I cannot believe this bullshit, but I have been warning those I know who are anti-smoking that the nanny state was coming for them next!! And of course I was right!! Death to the nanny state, what a bullshit fascist state of mind!!!
God bless politicians who are sick of the party games and so decide to appeal to all voters regardless of party by promising that all adults will have to do less parenting if they elect them in to office. I mean, this is fantastic, I hope they pass laws banning more than 1 hour of television per day, officiating that I must get at least 8 hours of sleep and be in bed no later than 10:30. Gosh, if I were able to not have to think for myself at all, just have everything regulated, gosh, this would be such a perfect country!!!!
So, that's right, SCREW PARTY POLITICS, let's vote for those who want to make our lives easier by removing any hint of responsibility or self-motivated virtue!!!!

I was told when I had my accident that if you don’t have on your seatbelt, most people don’t make it past the windshield. They usually get their head through and then get their neck cut to shreds by the glass and are left to bleed to death with the rest of their body inside the car. I seriously doubt that if someone did fly out of a car, that they would seriously harm someone else. Of couse, I've, knock on wood, only been in one bad accident. Could a First Responder give some input? Until I'm swayed the other way, I am in agreement with designwise1. While it may make sense to wear a seatbelt, and believe me- after my roll over I never am without one, one should not be ticketed or pulled over for choosing not to wear one. What ever happened to Darwin-ism, or survival of the fittest? I feel that if you manage to die or get seriously hurt before the age of 100, that there is some lawyer ready to sue or some law maker ready to pass a stupid ass law. Examples are the lady who sued MacDonald’s over the hot coffee, pulling the plug on Terry Shivo, fat people suing Fast-Food stores for making them fat, California suing the car manufactures, seatbelt law, helmet law, smoking bans, various wavers for any fucking activity you do, my list goes on.Quote:

And this isn't even bringing up the point about an unbuckled motorist harming another person in the vehicle. I've seen that happen, and it wasn't pretty.
It is in the realm of possibility a flying body could strike a pedestrian, a motorcycle rider or even be ejected from the origional car into another car...I've never seen it though and I've seen many ejections. I have seen deer go through a windshield numerous times. :smiley11:
Unbelted people in the rear seat strike people in the front seat very easily if the right set of circumstances occurs. I think this would have a greater probability is the people in the front were belted properly. They would be held in place as unbelted people flew into them.
I have a problem with seat belt laws as well as helmet laws for motorcycles. I think they are personal choices just as smoking or eating fatty foods. What really gripes me is people that don't have children properly restrained. In addition to a ticket people that don't restrain their kids should be made to visit a morgue and look at a dead kid. That is reality.
Just FYI I never drive my car without a seat belt or ride my bike without a helmet. That's just plain crazy...But it should be your choice to use them or not.
As far as smoking and consuming fatty foods go I've cut way back on them...Just don't tell me to stop em entirely.:smiley2:
