Well, I don't know if I would say greatest band ever *cough* Rush:smiley2:
But they sure do rock. Definitely in my top 5.
Greatest band? too subjective. But certainly in the top five. Im not coming up with a greatest band ever.
The best concert I've ever seen was KISS on the first of the many reunion/last tours. But I don't think I could put them in the top 5 greatest list. Maybe top ten.
Followed by the Stones on the steel wheels tour - another great concert.
ACDC are definately in my top 5 along with Black Sabbath, Uriah Heep, Deep Purple and SRV.
AC/DC would fall somewhere in my top 50. They lack the depth, creativity and in some instances-talent (Angus and Malcom aside) to be in my top 20 with such greats as Sabbath, Zeppelin, Floyd, Deep Purple, Grateful Dead, The Mothers, Crazy Horse etc.
My personal choice for the Greatest Rock Band Ever is a no-brainer: DRIVE-BY TRUCKERS.
Yep,
Best rock band ever. No real contest. :smiley2:
Thought I was the only one alive that remembered them...Still got some LP's from the seventies. Mick Box could play the hell out of a guitar.
AC/DC is probably the best party band going. Their style is loose and not very well cordinated...Which is ok. They pull it off well.
Rush...In contrast...is a much tighter better timed band. I like them too.
Best rock and roll band...The Who.
Yeah, Mick was great. David Byron was awesome on vocals, and I thought was very underrated. Gary Thain was an awesome bassist too (another early much unknown rock death). Ken Hensley was one of the top keyboardists in rock, and Lee Kerslake was definately a powerhouse on the skins.
My first two rock albums were UH Live, and the Magicians Birthday. I still have them on vinyl and are still playable.
Does Southern Rock count
Lynyrd Skynyrd :smiley42: :smiley32: :smiley32: :smiley20:
Led Zep and The Allman Brothers gotta be right at the top.
No Mr. Gorgenchuck, I won't stop rockin' in your class.
I will be different and put Primus on the list. Les Claypool has a completley original sound that can't be duplicated.
AC/DC is good and fun to listen to, but any 8th grader with a Wal-Mart guitar can play their songs.
Spinal Tap \m/

Wow, I just cannot get enough of this:smiley20:
Gonna go see the WHO tomorrow nite.
One of my favorite bands.
Another vote for Skynyrd...:smiley32:
What about ZZ Top?
AC/DC definitely top 10 though.
