she sure looks like a democrat to me.....
Yep, she's campaigning in a district that has more registered Democrats than Republicans. The incumbent State Rep. (Lenny Winkler) vacated the seat to run for State Senator. Winkler is one of the more moderate to liberal members of the Republican caucus in the State House. Heather and her opponent both presently serve on the local Town Council in Groton and the news articles, etc., say they're views are nearly identical. This will be a close race.:smiley3: which is why we decided to go on television for the last week of the campaign. Her opponent is not running TV ads. It's actually rare for State House candidates in Connecticut to run ads on television because the districts only represent about 24,000 people.
There was a three-way Democratic primary in August where the endorsed Democrat received 460 votes, a challenger received 459 and a third guy got something like 430 so the Democrats were split three ways pretty evenly. There was a "provisional" ballot that was not counted on Primary day because the voter had voted absentee and had never presented identification. It turned out he was indeed a legitimate voter. In Connecticut, provisional ballots are only opened in cases where they could change the outcome of the election so obviously in this case, it could change the results of the primary. During the recount, they opened it and it went for the woman (Elissa Wright) who had lost on Primary night by one vote. So now, she and Rita Schmidt were tied. Well guess what Connecticut election law says to do for a tie in a primary? Get this:

FLIP A COIN!!!:smiley3:
So Elissa Wright won the coin toss. We would have rather faced Rita Schmidt because we felt she was a weaker candidate.
She may be a Dem.,but she's pretty hot.Post a pic of her laying across the hood of your Jag,Bill:smiley1:
