Carlos Torano Exodus 1959 Toro Goldline
Okay, please bear with me on my attempt to review this smoke. Being that this is only the forth cigar I have had to date, my reviewing abilities are lacking to say the least. Anyways, here goes:
The appearance of the cigar was very nice. Dark and well constructed. It had a slighty oily sheen and there were very few very small veins throughout. Pre-lit aroma was nice as was the taste, which seemed to be slightly sweet. Nice firm feel with a slight give.
Lighting was very easy and even. The draw was very nice the entire smoke. I can tell you, this thing produced the nicest white, thick smoke, I was very impressed. There was a strong, but not offensive aroma. It seemed to be a mild to slightly full flavor with a pleasing spice that lingered the whole smoke. I couldn't pick out any particulars in the taste, but it was tastey overall. Maybe alittle earthy if I had to try to put a finger on it. Burn was very even and the ash was solid and a nice shade of gray. It made it to about the 2 1/2 inch point before finally succumbing to gravity.
The finish was as nice as the start. Stayed consistant throughout. Lasted about an hour and a half. I used a full cut and it has been stored about a week at 70% RH. For the $5 it cost me, I would definately pick up a couple more.
And one last thing, this bad boy did have my head swimming a little, but in a good way :smiley20:
A big Torano fan here too...but
trying to find his cigars locally is another story.
My favorite Torano is the Exodus Silver "Grand Churchill". Two Guys in NH carries Torano but is currently out of the Silver line and can't say exactly when they'll get more.
Can anyone recommend a good mail order supply?
