Welcome to CS! Pull up a chair, tell us a bit about yourself, cigar likes/dislikes, etc.
Cheers.
Well, I'm just a new guy but I've had probably 5 cigars so far.
First cigar I ever had was a Gurkha. Not sure what kind, it was in a glass tube with a brown wax top on it. Very good smoke.
I've learned my lesson on Macanudo's. :smiley36:
My future father in law gave me one of his Cohiba Blacks. Quite honestly I really didn't like it too much. Too harsh for me, but I'm sure I'll build up to that.
Had a Partagas Robusto last weekend. It was alright.
My favorite so far is what I had last night. A montecristo classic. Nice and mild and burned great.
I just placed an order the other day for some new smokes. Can't wait for them to arrive. I'm just trying out all kinds of cigars before I start buying boxes so I can see what I like and what I don't like.
Welcome to the boards from Florida.
welcome from Iowa, what kind of smokes did you order if you don't mind me asking
Welcome from Canada.
Welcome from Maryland.
Welcome from MS.
Wecome from NYC :smiley20:
Nice selection of smokes on order. By the way since you are new to smoking you might have to build up your palete to the stronger stuff.
For now all Gurkahs will do great and here is a list of a few others you might enjoy
5 Vegas
Cabinet Series by Perdomo
Romeo Y Julieta: Vinatge, 1875
Cusano 18 - both maduro and conn
Fonseca- pretty much all of them
Partagas 1845 ( not black )
Puros Indios
There are many others and I am sure you will get more suggestions so get ready to enjoy the ride :smiley2:
welcome from iowa :smiley20:
Welcome from MIchigan!
Welcome from MT!
Welcome from Calgary.
Welcome from WA. Looks like you have a nice starter pack coming. The Gurkha you had and seemed to like in a glass tube is likely a Gurkha Grand Reserve if you are looking to get more.

And another welcome from Iowa. listen to the guys here they'll hook you up with some pretty good knowledge.
As far as mild smokes go:
Fonseca
Gispert (smooth and reasonably priced)
RP Vintage 92, a little bit on the medium side but nice and smooth.
and I second the Cusano 18th both the maduro and the natural are excellent smokes.
Thanks guys for all the welcomes.
Can't wait to try some different cigars, see what I like, what I don't like and report back.
Also, thanks for all the suggestions. I will definitely try some of the smokes that you guys listed.
Welcome from Kansas.
Welcome! The best part in being new in the cigar hobby is trying different smokes. Especially smokes that are recommended by members here. It reduces the chances of you experiencing a bad one (although, nothing is ever certain, but no one here will steer you wrong intentionally)!
