Cigar Tubes

Hey Guys. Just a quick question. I have a few cigars that came in the metal tubes. I had read somewhere before I found this great site to take the caps off but leave the cigars in the tubes. The caps have been off for about a year and I was wondering if I can take them out of the tubes or is it best to leave them in? A side note... I am having trouble with my humi and had great suggestions on here on how to fix it. But I am thinking maybe storing these tubes in my humi might be contributing to some of the trouble.

I can't see that alu tubes are going to cause a problem By all means take them out if you want to, the only advantage in keeping them in the tubes is protection from damage if you are in the habit of moving the gars around a lot (I know that I used to).

It won't really make a diffrence if you leave the tube on or off if you have the cap off in the humidor. Either way the cigar will get the same humidity benefits from the humidor, however if you remove the tube it will give you more space in your humidor. Although if you tend to "play" with your cigars alot you might want to leave the tube on to keep from damaging the wrapper of the cigar. The tubes shouldn't be a problem in the humidor, more than likely the problem has something to do with not seasoning the humidor, the humidifcation element or the humidor/seal itself.
