Finding Similiar Notes
Ok, I'm gonna try and make this easy to understand. Last nite, I smoked another one of the 5 Vegas that I've had for a couple of months and they have this 'toasty' flavor that I love. I have noticed these same notes in AF Short Story, DK Brown, Fonseca, Tatuaje, and Partagas Shorts. What I want to know is, what do I need to look for in the 5 Vegas that will produce close to the same results? What is producing this 'toasty' flavor that I crave? I notice that from my experience I get it mostly from medium bodied smokes.
5 Vegas
Wrapper: Sumatra
Filler: D.R., Nic, Sum.
Binder: Nicaragua
AF Short Story
Wrapper: Cameroon
Filler: Dom. Rep.
Binder: Dom. Rep.
The only similarity is the DR Filler. I know a good percentage of the flavor comes from the wrapper and the binder does not contribute at all.
I hope this makes sense.

except for the Shorts they might all have the maduro wrapper. It could also be the way the tobacco leaf is fermented. Some do use higher temperature than others so that might be the case just thoughts though

The AF Short Story is a Cameroon Wrapper
5 Vegas is Sumatra
Actually, the only maduro is the DK.

I felt like having something with some flavor, something interesting after a long tennis match.
I had the Nestor Maduro I got from Alan C.
Great smoke, thanks.
