Hi all, got my first ever churchill today and it was so expensive (to me) and awesome looking that I dont want to mess it up cutting it with the cheap free (but brand new) cutter I got with it.
My other option is the punch but would this make the draw too tight? I typically dont have the problem with robustos but surely the churchill needs more work anyway.

The cuttter should be fine. A punch on a cigar that size could lead to tar build up which could make the cap area bitter.

You could always double punch the cap. It will make a semi-oval shape. The cap should be large enough and sturdy enough for you to punch it twice.
You know what one of my favorite cutters is? The cheap single blade guillotine cutter that uses an actual razor blade. Once the blade dulls even a little, I just throw it away and use a new one. They are cheap and effective. A dull blade is the cause of most cutting woes. I wish they would make a cutter with cheap replaceable blades, like a Gillette.
