Well Hello There...
Hey all, Im quite new the cigar world, but want to learn as much as i can :smiley2:
I have recently just been frequenting my cigar shop in Houston, Texas where i reside, and find myself making more and more trips per week.. Im really looking forward to being as knowledgeable as some of you on here, and experience as much as possible.
I had a friend who gave me a Macanudo one day outside, and after that I was hooked, and hopefully for life..
I'm currently about to enroll in film school in florida, where hopefully there will be plenty of good 'gars for me to try :)
Currently my fav cigars have been..
Padron 1964 Anniversary Diplimatico
An Arturo Fuente Hemmingway Signature Series
Rocky Patel 8 Year Aged
I have a couple questions off the bat, i mean i don't want to seem to pushy i'm just anxious to learn...
Um Where do you guys buy your cigars Online? what website do you recommend?
I want to get a nice humidor but what do i need to look for in one? also what to look for to not be tricked, or fooled, and unnecessary .
Also, where can i read on tips to properly smoke a cigar? Etiquette etc... ?
Thanks All,
I hope these Forums will provide a great experience in launching me into the world of cigar smoking.

Welcome.
http://cigarmonster.com/
Great site for daily deals
http://www.cigarsinternational.com/html/spec_jc.asp
Another daily deal site, but also sells cigars at normal price all the time.
http://www.cigarbid.com/auction/
If you into auctions, could end up getting some real nice cigars for cheap.
http://www.cubancrafters.com/bybrand.php
If you are a fan of Don Kiki's, a great site to buy them. I bought my humi from them, great site.
Those are the ones I frequently visit.
This fourm is also a nice place to get some cigars. Check out the newbie sampler theard.

Welcome from another Houston guy :smiley37:
To briefly answer your questions:
Try a google search. I buy froma lot of different places depending on what I am looking for. Tampa Humidor, Cuban Crafters, Cigars International, Famous-Smoke, etc... Most of the time if there is a specific cigar I'm looking for, I'll go to the B&M.
Forget the humidor, buy a cooler and some beads. Its cheaper and works great.
Use the search function on this board and most/all of your questions will be answered.
Again, welcome and enjoy!

Well since you will be in Florida I would suggest Tampahumidor.com for both your humidor and cigar needs. You can visit if you would like to buy your humidor in person, plus they are opening an awesome new store in January. They have free shipping on single cigars, ship with humidification, and Mike the owner is awesome. I would also suggset the corona cigar company they have an amazing store right there in Orlando and they do online orders as well. Check the cigar aficionado website for videos on cigar smoking or search this forum for any tips you might need.

Welcome to the boards from PA.
I too just recently decided to take the plunge and buy a humidor. I picked up a Cuban Crafter's humidor, This one to be exact, which so far works great and came with some fantastic smokes as well. This humi is pretty much gorgeous in person. I am very satisfied with it.
So far, Ive bought from Cuban Crafters, Cigars International, and Cigarmony. Ive heard good things about JR's Cigars and Mike's Cigars as well.
As for tips on smoking cigars, I usually google my questions. But if I dont get a satisfactory answer I will post on here.
EDIT: Also forgot to mention the great guide Lopaka made for seasoning a humidor. Here's the link to it.

i agree with spiffy by a cooler and beads (from heartfeltindustries.com)
they do a wonderful job. i bought the 65% ones and they are right on the money. course i have to buy more beads cause i got a bigger cooler. i've ordered from tampahumidor.com and a few other places.

Welcome from SC:smiley37:
I have a 48 QT cooler and a Cigar Oasis XL plus, keeps things just right....need a bigger cooler soon though. I suggest getting the largest cooler you can keep in your house without becoming an eyesore. Even a very large cooler is still less expensive than some of the smallest humidors. You'll need the space eventually.
