So far...from a novice
So far the ones I've enjoyed are:
Montecristo N.5 (recommended by a member) :smiley20:
Romeo Y Julieta Cedros de Luxe N.3, although I found I had to suck really hard. :smiley23:
I know these a real beginners smokes, but they were good.
I have also managed to acquire a box of Bolivar Gold Medal, which I am planning to age. Infact I'll probably smoke 1 and age the rest smoking 1 p.a. :smiley41:
Please keep the recommendations coming.

...oh yes, and I have also bought myself a cooler and some beads after avidly reading the Forum. Can't wait to fill it. The small humidor I bought on ebay will probably be used for everyday smokes.
Regards again.

Sounds like a good start. Are you more of a mild flavored or full bodied type of person? Just so we can help you out with recommendations. Or are you pretty open to just about anything?

At this stage I would probably try a variety.

Im a bit of a newb too but the ones i have liked so far:
5 Vegas Gold (a light 'gar, the bouquet is awesome, almost honey notes?)
Rocky Patel Vintage 1990 (this cigar is just a great smoke)
Gurkha Nepalese Warrior (very robust complex)
A. Fuente Hemmingway (very beginner gar)
Romeo Y julieta 1875 Aniversario Maduro (very spicy)
CAO - Italia (a sweet smoke nice notes)
Rocky Patel Old World Reserve Maduro
A. Fuente Opus X (super creamy cigar but overpriced)
Gurkha G3 Rare Estate Blend Mini Torpedos ( i loved these)
THose have been my memorables..
I mean you will straigt off find things you hate and things you love... so what i did was when i went to buy cigars i would try and get as crazy of a mixed bag as I could and i was able to narrrow down what I like...

Some of my favorites just to give you an idea:
-CAO Mx2 (stands for maduro times 2. a great, rich cigar with slow cool burn).
-Punch Rare Corojo (nice spice and very enjoyable)
-Roxxor Deluxe Maduro (these may not be as well known around the boards but are an up-and-comer in my book. very nice smoke)
-La Vieja Habana by Drew Estate (any 'gar out of the line is great for the price in my opinion. they go for just under $3 here in the states. definately more than worth it)
-CAO Brazilia Amazon (very rich flavor, almost chocolate. extremely enjoyable)
That should give you some things to check out and keep you busy for a little while. Jonjonmackey is right though. The best thing to do is to get a bag of just about everything when you go to your local store or make your next purchase so that you can test out a wide variety.
Enjoy!
