I recently purchased my first humidor and the company that I bought it
from recommends that I only use their special care solution to recharge
the regulator. Is there a difference between solutions or will any 50%
mixture of propylene glycol/50% water solution work? Thanks.

A 50%/50% mixture should work just make sure you always use distilled water, otherwise trace minerals may be left behind and end up clogging things up.
If your really worried about it simply using100% distilled water should do the trick as well. Your just going to have to refill it more often.
Can you find a picture of the regulator? Does it look anything like: http://www.bealltool.com/nphum.htm?Edited by: hex1848

The instructions say to add 1 oz of distilled water about every 4-6 weeks & add 1 oz of solution every 6 months. I'll attach a pic of the regulator.

I was able to see the picture. Yeah, I would say you would be find with a 50%/50% or 100% mixture. It seem like just a standard humidifier.
Many company's want you to buy their own brand of solution so they can make more $$.

I fixed one of the url's above, so you can click on it.However, it looks like yahoo doesnt like you to link directly to the pictures.
