Fun Times
So first I'd like to apologize for not being around for a little bit, had some interesting times over the last week.
My wife is starting her PhD program at Texas A&M this year so we spent the first week of the new year moving up there. PITA but it was expected.
However on my drive back to Clear Lake, around 10:30 pm, just South of College Station, some drunk effing jack off in a pick up flies onto the freeway and crosses 3 lanes right into me. Now I drive a little 2 door Saturn, and this dude was driving a gigantor truck that my entire car would fit into. Needless to say, my poor little car lost that one and somewhere between the truck and the center concrete divider/wall thing my car was totaled. I will say that I came out of a pretty horrific looking car with no major damage so big props to Saturn. Spent a night at the hospital and a couple of very sore days in College Station, and now I'm back at work.
Korean, I'll get your stuff to you real soon, and if I am missing anyone else, let me know. I'm spending the next hour or so catching up on here.

Holy Crap, glad you're ok.
College Station eh? Ah, I have some tour stories from that place. You know the ski slope on A&M Campus? I had some fun times on there at about 1 in the morning. We also climbed an 11 story crane at a construction site. Then we had to hide from the cops and then take off running through the site. Some dudes fell into some Bull Grass and got ate up. Then we got caught. Good times. metaldonnieg and JoeBlow were there.
Sorry for the threadjack.

Glad to hear your ok. I was wondering though did the doors pop back out like the commercials? if so you need to contact satrun and get your own commercial.

Damn Dude:smiley40:
Glad everyone is OK!
I always ask this.... Did you keep your eyes open during the crash? most people say no, but the only one I've been in I can play over and over in my head! I guess that's something:smiley24:

Dayum, glad to hear you are ok.

Glad to hear you are ok. I know some of the worst looking wrecks I end up at people usually have the least amount of damage. It is crazy!
The days after are definitely the worse.

No problem dude. I am glad you are ok, that's the most important thing.
Saturns must be some awesome cars to go through what you described and still keep the passengers safe. The worst wreck I was in was when a 15 yr old unlicensed girl was given a driving lesson by her boyfriend at about 11pm on night. She ran a redlight. We both were driving Jeep Cherokees, which I found out has foam inside the front bumpers. When everything came to a stop, the street looked like it has snow on it with all the stryofoam.

I :smiley27: crumple zones and airbags, they saved my life.
I remember those commercials! When i bought the car used, the salesman actually kicked in the door panel and it just bounced right back. I love plastic cars :smiley20:
So the car is definitely totaled, I'll see if I can get some pictures of it. As for the accident itself, I remember seeing the guy flying up the on ramp. I moved over to the left lane to give him room. Then I remember him still coming over right into me. I remember the impact and the airbag, but not much else until after we were stopped. Apparently the guy is 22, just got back to campus, and blew a 0.13. He said that he thought he was going the other way on Hwy 6 and that he never saw me. He wasn't wearing a seatbelt and ended up in worse shape than me, though his truck looks better than my car does.
Total damage to me is 4 bruised ribs on my left where the concrete divider came through the door, a variety of cuts, scratches and bruises, and a broken right thumb (makes it hard to type). I have 2 black eyes from the airbag and a gnarly looking bruise across my chest from the seatbelt.
My insurance agent got me a rental car yesterday. I'm probably just going to get a cheap replacement or a short term lease since I'll only need it for a few more months.
