It's official
My daughter signed to play soccer at Texas Tech this morning at 7:01 A.M. She and her best friend did a press conference this afternoon. The other one is going to Creighton in Omaha. Those two, a high jumper headed to UT, and a distance runner going to Tx A&M are a unique bunch at their high school - all girls. Usually the D1 signees are mostly boys; we have one guy going to SMU to play football.
I am proud of this kid - more than I can hardly say. I am sad too - the end of her high school career means her participation on two teams will come to an end this July. I've been watcching her grow up on the pitch for nearly 12 years. The good news is, after being heavily recruited all over the country, with this decision her home games will only be two hours' drive for me.
So . . . Go Raiders!!!

Excellent news Ted, it's always a fine feeling when you can be really proud of your kids. Hopefully she'll do really well at college so you can be in the stands smoking a cigar saying "Stick it to 'em!!!!"
