Man, I can't believe people are throwing down 4 cigars a day sometimes!
I just ordered my first humidor (100 capacity) and a little 8 cigar sampler from CI to get things rolling.
punch rothchild maddie, halfway through a Coronado toro... mighty tasty.
After a little research, I picked up the Alhambra - which seems to be a reputable humi sold across the net:
http://www.mountwashingtoncigar.com/...r_alhambra.jpg
The sampler I picked up is the Boutique Torpedo All-Star 8 from CI:
1 - Graycliff 1666 Pirate (torpedo) (6" x 52)
1 - Padilla Obsidian Belicoso (6" x 54)
1 - Cuba Libre Unico (torpedo) (6.25" x 54)
1 - CAO Ltd. Black Gothic (torpedo) (6" x 52)
1 - El Mejor Emerald Torpedo (6.5" x 54)
1 - 5 Vegas Classic Torpedo (6" x 54)
1 - 5 Vegas Gold Series Torpedo (6" x 54)
1 - Rocky Patel Connecticut Torpedo (6.5" x 50)
Also got a digital hygrometer and some Humi-Care to get me started and borrowing my buddy's 50/50 solution to get things seasoned.
I've been getting into cigars for a while and my go-to is usually a Rocky Patel 1992 Vintage from a local store, I'm starting to expand out and figured why should I waste my money at $6-7 a pop when I can just get a humi and get some good deals on bundles, sales, etc.
Mmh. Vegas robaina after lunch, and then another one couple hours later
Before dinner tried a Cuaba divino, but didn't taste, maybe because i had my mouth full with robaina
Now doing a Cohiba LE2004 (along with a little glass of Zapaca 23)
AF Hemingway - Masterpiece, wrapper cracked probably due to poor storage... longest smoke evar!
Padilla 1932 - Churchill, cracked near the tip but I managed to salvage it. Great flavors
Ashton VSG Torpedo - Favorite smoke, smoked perfectly
Padron 1964 Pyramid - Smoked perfectly up until the last 2 inches of it... could feel some soft and hard spots in it
Cuaba divino
Partagas short
Cohiba LE2003 after dinner (too old, got the flavour when almost finished)
Tatuaje - Exclusivo Zona Del Este
Romeo 1
Partagas D4
Cohiba LE2006 (burnt my fingers)
last night: Ramone Allones Reserve corona minor
Punch Champion
Yesterday:
Padron 4000 maduro
Alec Bradley Tempus
A. Fuente Don Carlos
tonights smoke, despite the thirty degree weather was a partagas series p cigar. I have never had one of these before. i had to touch it up once, but it relatively burnes well and was a very pleasant cigar.
Had a Nestor Miranda Spc Selection Maduro.....all I had to do was wet the cap of this cigar to avoid a frayed mess when I cut into it with my Palio and BAM! Spice city...this cigar burned way too hot, way too spicy (for my taste) and kept going out!!! maybe a few months - years in the humi would do it justice!
Carlos Torano 1959 Exodus box press Torpedo... hmm hmmm good! :smiley20:
with : Tea, Earl Grey, hot
Saturday:
Punch vintage 2000 torp :smiley20:
Casa Torano Maduro toro .....o.k., was hoping for more. I'll try the robusto, corona or lancero next.
Hab. Puros Fuerte #4 :smiley41:
Sunday:
Padilla 1948
Padilla Achilles
Padilla Miami knuckle
:smiley37:
Wow Ashauler,
Looks like a Padilla day! Need to get me some of those one of these days, so many cigars so little money :smiley1:
today: Arturo Fuente Flor Fina 858
just finished off a perdomo lot 23 belicoso. a fine smoke indeed.
A re-visit to a forgotten cigar........Oliva MB 3 - very nice.
tonights smoke was a cigar I received in a PIF from another forum. excellent cigar, A cruzado. It was so good, I almost needed a roach clip to smoke it to the very end.
Camacho 1962 Corona.
Turkey day - Tatuaje Havana VI Verocu #1
Right now - Carlos Torano 2004 Tribute torpedo
Later - Didn't smoke the Oliva... decided to go with a Camacho 10th Anni. Torpedo (Thanks to a fellow BOTL), El Centurion Churchill (Thanks to another fellow BOTL) and a Ghurka Estate selection rothschild
Oliva Master Blend 3
Just finished my last H.Upmann Sir Winston.
Awesome!
Must restock.
Just got done with a Los Blancos I picked up at a local B&M. It was ok.
CAO CX2. Nice cigar but it didn't impress me. I normally like Cameroon wrappers. Oh, well on to the next cigar :smiley1:
Camacho Triple Maduro 11/18. Great smoke! Plenty of smoke, great flavor. Everything I could possibly ask for. Thank you to my fellow BOTL who dropped this on me :smiley20:
Ghurka Titan. Smoked great for the first 2/3 of the cigar. Uneven burn which eventually lead to it tunneling in the last 1/3. Too bad I've only had 1 good Titan out of 4 or 5 I've smoked. I gotta say though, it's my favorite cigar from Ghurka next to the G5.
tonights smoke was not a expensive one, but always a goodie for me. I smoked a benchmark tonight. as asual, it was a hit
Smoked a Ghurka Black Puro Torpedo - Super tight draw, used the draw poker but it didn't help... had fun unraveling this cigar.
Moved onto a Camacho 1962 Torpedo - Smoked great, awesome flavor, nutty and full smoke
Smoking a Sol Cubano Cuban Cabinet torpedo - Smoked great as well, definitely more full on smoke and stronger in flavor.
Well, since tonight my promtion is official, I smoked a rare smoke for the occasion. One of those, save for a special nights smoke.
Today...2006 Fuente Fuente OpusX Robusto "Forbidden X" and a nice glass of 30 year Glenlivet. :smiley4:
Grats on the promotion.
Mine is a ITC 10th anniversary by Rocky Patel. saving it for after dinner so I'm doing my usual pre-smoke ritual. It sure does smell purdy.
Nothing fancy today... just a couple Backwoods Honey Berrys while I worked. Don't have enough time during the day to enjoy anything nice. Got to have something that last about 15 to 20 minutes. I know there are some out there, I just don't know enough to find them yet.
Arturo Fuento Flor Fina 858. seem to have a thing for these lately :smiley1:
5 Vegas Miami Knuckle (thx Ashauler)
Gurkha Ancient Warrior
oliva serie v torpedo (very consistant cigar - day to day)
CFO Reserva #7 after a year in the bottom of the cooler. Not bad for a fitty cent yard gar.
