Sorry forgot to post, the wife sent a check on Tuesday.
Been a little preoccupied with work lately.
I've been informed that the order has landed at the shop, so I'll probably pick them up tomorrow morning. That said, I probably won't be able to get them pack up and to the mailbox until Monday (9/13/2010).

Reading Ash's pipe tobacco thread, and Perique tobacco, I googled a little and found these:

The Mysteriosos cigars are purported to have a portion of Perique tobacco rolled in them, and a nice Connecticut broadleaf wrapper.
I have no idea what these things would be like, and I've never used the vendor, as an FYI. Any input on either topic from someone who's been there would be appreciated.

Just called the shop, and the owner (knowlegeable) was not in. The assitant on the phone said that they don't have any of the robusto or corona size, and most likely won't be getting anymore. I asked why, but he really didn't give me a good reason beside some problem with the perique tobacoo. Maybe they can't get it anymore.

Perique is really hard to find. It's only grown in St. James Parish, Louisiana. There are only a couple of guys growing it now due to the high cost of producing it and the low selling price. The recent hurricanes have made it harder to get. Most of it is snapped up by pipe tobacco producers.Quote:

My local B&M has straight perique in 50 gram tins...I'd be glad snag a tin or two for someone if they want it. It might be interesting to blend some tobacco with it.

On a related note, I pryed a little as to the discontination of this particular line, and he expalined that the perique tobacoo is expensive (which we've gathered through the last couple posts) and it comes in a barrel, and it's very wet, needs to be dried prior to the manufacturer rolling.
