I'm definitely a bourbon drinker, myself (although I do enjoy whisk[e]y in general). I prefer something nice to sip on, and I'm quite fond of both Maker's Mark and Knob Creek.

Not finding the scotch pix. Here's a couple of my special ones:

WOW! I am incredibly envious. Are you finding all of those at local liquor places? I'd have to do some serious traveling/special ordering to come close to that kind of collection. I'm actually looking for a new sipping bourbon to try...do you have any suggestions? Maker's is my standard choice, and if my wallet is feeling nice and happy then I'll splurge and get a 1.75 of Knob Creek. Any ideas?
Sorry for the delay; my laptop bluescreenofdeath'ed. Came back to life after booting from system disc; almost had to drop $1200 on a new Vaio. I digress.
All locally bought, although I did overpay on ebay for a bottle of Pappy 23 year old, then the next week Binny's got me another bottle. Binny's can get anything. Got me George Dickel Barrel Select in less than a week (Tennessee whisky).
Decided tonight that I like Knob better than Woodford.
Pappy 20 yr old is the absolute favorite--about $90. 15 yr old isn't bad.
Rowan's Creek is a good small batch bourbon.
Eagle Rare is another lesser known one that I like.
George T. Stagg kicks butt at around 140 proof--add ice and let it melt/dilute!
Any recommendations for a good single malt Scotch in the $45-60 range? I need a father's day gift.
I have a collection of empty scotch bottles:smiley6:
Aberlour a'bunadh $60 (prices from binnys.com)Quote:
For JFellows, who asked:
good single malt Scotch in the $45-60 range?
Balvenie Doublewood (12 yr old) $40--almost everyone loves this and it's a bargain
Bowmore 17 yr old $63 peaty, but much less than Laphroig or Ardbeg; less expensive than Lagavulin
Highland Park 12 yr old $40 another good basic single malt
Isle of Jura Superstition Single Malt no age; kind of smoky $35
Macallan 10yr Old Fine Oak $40 an economical Macallan
Talisker 10 yr old $54 smoky, not peaty
Hope this helps and dad has a good day.
HA HA! When I first started to bring home empty bottles, (I think 16) I put a 3/4 bottle of jack on my desk by mistake, and my mom thought it was sweet tea. I asked her why in the world would I have a bottle of sweet tea sitting my desk, and she said, "For decoration." :smiley36::smiley29:
Where did y'all hide the mason jars?:smiley8:
I've been meaning to try this bourbon whiskey but want to see if anyone has ever tried it.
It's called Fighting Cock Bourbon Whiskey and is 103 proof.:smiley34:

Also, does anyone know of a good/alright scotch that cost between $20-$30?
I did a review of it here
