15 days and counting, yeah baby....... :smiley37:
Looking forward to this... looking forward to another rousing rendition of "Oh Canada" too! ;-)
I will gladly split tickets with you (and Dan), and once again, you can decide which (losing) tickets to keep. ;-)
However, as with Rob last year, I am not anticipating a repeat... after all, there are boxes that I haven't even started to smoke from :-).
I was planning on taking most of the winnings home this year as it's my turn.
DG
It is *not* my turn this year :-)

Updated Information in reference to the event.
As the weather guessers are predicting rain we are prepared for any weather situation. We have a large pavillion on location and this year we will have 2 large tents being erected as well to protect the guests from any inclement weather.
As far as a time line goes, here’s what we have scheduled so far:
10 am - 12 noon (or when ever you can get here) Check-in and welcome.
1130 – 1 pm Lunch: Assorted grilled Sausages & KC Style Ribs (along with sides and salads)
12 noon Official welcome and introductions
2 pm – 3 pm Snacks: Texas Brisket Nachos & Smokey Chicken Wings
2:30 pm First set of raffles
4:30 pm – 6:30 pm Dinner: Big Guns award winning Pulled Pork, BBQ chicken breast and Santa Maria Tri Tip (along with sides and salads)
5:30 pm Second set of raffles
We have the pavilion until 8 pm so there’s no rush to leave as we will have plenty of food, drinks and cigars to enjoy. For those that are traveling, be safe and I’ll see you all soon....... :smiley37:
Thanks again for a great event Charlie!
IIRC, over $12k raised for Wings for Warriors and the Wounded Warrior Transition Unit. Well over 200 people in attendance.
The BBQ guys came Friday and had the smokers going all night. A separate crew cooked for Friday while the main crew prepared meat for Saturday - so Friday was lobsters and clams and sausage and hot dogs for those camping. The sausages and dogs were simply the best I have ever had.
Saturday, Diesel Grinch was the big winner of a very nice cab of HdM IIRC. I won a few times but gave the wine and Havana Club back for re-drawing. (Customs doesn't like when I have too much booze and too much tobacco.) I now have a nice collection of Gurkha tin signs(!), a CAO cap, and a small box of the new Ortega Series D No. 12, the first (non-ISOM) cigar that I have seen in a while with no cello.
The BBQ was awesome - see menu above. The whisky/whiskey tasting was great, with a variety of Scotch, Irish, and American available. The leftovers - both Irish, made it back to the campsite, where I cured Will of the hiccups (Badwhale and friend and Irish79 camped out on Saturday.) During the day there were also Italian Ices to sample, which were extremely popular when the sun was beating down.
Just like last year, I drove through heavy thunderstorms coming down and going back, but the event itself was rain-free despite predictions.
Hope to see more folks from here next year!
