You are very welcome.

No Dan, I did not. Where did I pose a question to you? YOU started this thread, not me.
I'm not seeing anything "painfull(sic)" I just pointed out that you've complained about drama-filled posts in the past yet you started a "drama" thread here and I can't understand why.
Why did I join? Received an invite, don't see anything wrong with multiple boards or meeting other people.
Why I will go there often in the future? Hit "new post" on CS and you get 9 threads (2 of which are about another board) Hit "new post" there and you get 49 threads (not all related to cigars, but a quick looks tells me at least 60-70 percent.
Yes, I know I could post more and do my part to support a great board, but my style most of the time is to read what others say, and when I have an opinion post a reply or thread.
BTW-Did I miss something, I get on here a few minutes ago, and it is clear that this is one of the most active threads of tonight. Why is this a big deal here?
i joined the other site... boom invited me... big fucking deal... since when do i have to pledge allegiance to one board or the other?... CS is great and a little drama between other members completely not related to me isn't going to make me stop posting somewhere... everyone is too caught up on 'who's starting what'...
I only went over there becase I follwed a link from here but honestly all I saw was all the people from here over there.....:smiley5:
I've only belonged to CS since Sept of '06, and I have posted at no other cigar boards. I think I joined CP, but it is too busy for me, too many members.....but that is just me and my personality. I prefer smaller groups and tighter relationships as opposed to large crowds of acquaintances. This type of community,by its very nature, will lead to more "passion" during conflicts.....since it is more personal.
I know my comments carry little weight here, and thats fine, I need to earn the respect of my fellow BOTL's ......as it should be. I for one will continue to do my best to stay out of any drama that does not directly involve me and will continue to consider this my home board.
Oh, and BTW, I followed the link on the first post in this thread and saw that the majority of the posters were indeed also members here.......but so what, it is after all a free country and as far as I know polygamy laws don't apply to bulletin boards.
Now, back to trying to figure out what my p/t's are going to be for the spring is here pass.....whippee, I'm next.
This board seems to attract folks who like unmoderated discussion. As for me, I am a member at ClubStogie and here. While the heavy moderation at CS bothers me sometimes, the people I have met make it worth staying.
And while the unmoderated nature of this forum is bothersome at times, as it lets asshats and trolls run amuck, I still get much from being here, and have met great people, so that makes it worth staying.
Any unmoderated board is going to have a higher rate of shit-slinging, as there is no moderator to step in and insta-ban someone if they get out of line. Instead, if someone comes on and starts to piss members off, they will get it from multiple directions. That's the nature of an umoderated board.
I already belong to one moderated board, and that's enough for me. So i doubt I would join Cigar Live. When moderated boards start banning the word porn, locking threads down left and right, deleting threads, and get all G-rated on us by telling us we can't have anything that would upset a churchmouse, that starts to gall me.
That is somewhat classed as a somehwat acceptable travel substiitute, or a "finishing" razor to someone new to straight razors, like myself!!!:smiley17:
However, I will finish off with an old Gillette when I do use my Dovo straight. I ain't got the balls yet to go against the grain anywhere near a major artery.:smiley36:
Once I saw what those Mach III blades cost, I swore I'd never buy another one again.
I've never considered a straight razor.
btw, if you think mach 3's cost alot. I have this 5 plus 1 bladed number and a 4 pack of blades is 13 bucks.
So where did you get the straight razor?
Holy crap those things are expense, a couple of hundred bucks for the kit, screw it, I'll stick with my 3 dollar disposible blades. I have enough expensive hobbies.
I know Dude. I was looking at those things after I saw the price on the Mach IIIs.
I got the Straight at a shop in Detroit. I could have gotten it cheaper on-line, but for my first one, I wanted to get something I know would feel nice in my hands.
I used to get 2 weeks out of 3 blades, sometimes I'd go through 2 blades a week. That's ~ $6-7 a week, X 52 weeks = > $300. So far, I have in the vicinity of $250 invested in razors and parts 'n pieces, a good brush, a few soaps and stuff. I have more coming, but these will do me for life with a few $ in DE blades once a year.
Also, there is absolutely no comparison to how my face feels now after a shave.
EDIT:
If you want to get really fancy, it would be easy to spend $1500 on a razor and $500 on a brush.
Dan, sorry for the threadjack there dude.
