I've really started to watch Mad Men for the first time recently and I'm totally addicted. Love the late 50's culture and the show is just amazing.
The wife and I had to slog through the first four episodes and now we love it. I think the show moves a little slower, kind of like the era it represents.
Don't give up on it too quickly. If you're not enjoying it after four or five episodes you can blame it all on me.
Ok, don't laugh but............
My wife started watching this new series 2 Broke Girls and because my butt's usually plastered to my easy chair which is conveniently located in front of the TV while it's on, I've been watching it too. It's actually reasonably funny. It's not Big Bang Theory hilarious, but it is surprisingly entertaining and funny.
I hate to admit it - but I've totally succumbed to watching Big Bang Theory. I just can't wait to watch the next one. It's most likely due to the fact that I need to find a replacement for House, which is now dying a flaming death. And Big Bang Theory has now infected my entire family, including wifey who generally has a very strong dislike for just about any similar show.
I've also become mildly interested in "American Digger", except that there's too much "drama" being created in the episodes (e.g. Randy Savage pulling everyone back because they found a buried bear trap, or freaking everyone out because a cougar was roaming nearby). He also looks pretty stooopid (as my son says) with his silly dance he does when they find something of value...
I'm really hating the way most of these shows are going. They come out with 10 or so episodes, and then cycle through repeat after repeat after repeat until they film the next season. It sucks when I have to wait six months (or more) to see the new episodes of my favorite shows. (e.g. Boardwalk Empire, Gold Rush, Auction Hunters, etc.).
Big Bang Theory I watch repeats over and over and I hate repeats.
Game of Thrones love this show!
I watch the borgais
I also watch Nurse Jackie
I bought the Tutor I saw a few of them but never sat though the series so I am waiting for that weekend when I will do nothing but watch it though.
My husband loved Deadwood !
Way cool...more Big Bang addicts ........LOL........I started watching it because it came between 2 1/2 Men and another show I was watching a couple years back (back when that show was still funny before Charlie had his real life meltdown) and after the second episode I was hooked. I introduced my wife to it and within about 3 episodes we were ordering all the previous seasons on DVD.
The wife and I used to watch House avidly until the show jumped the shark last season with House in a tub operating on his own leg. About 2/3's of the way through that episode she looked at me and said, "Damnit, I swear I just saw a shark!". I knew immediately what she meant and I had to agree and we shut it down and haven't watched since. It used to be such an enjoyable show too!
Oh well................
We still watch House. Yeah, that was a tough episode. I think they had a tough challenge figuring out how to write Cuddy out of the series by the end of the season. I was incredibly doubtful they'd be able to pull this off this season. This season has been kind of hit and miss. Definitely not as good as seasons 3, 4, 5.
The British Top Gear, Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, and Axe Men, actually just Shelby are among my favorites
It'll be interesting to see how Charlie Sheen's new show on FX will do
At this time I'm watching more episodes of "bones" and also "scrubs", thinking of trying out Hulu plus. Got Netflix but thinking of changing because Netflix seems to not add too much new content.
Army of Darkness
I have never seen Harry Potter so I am trying to take them all down this weekend marathon style with my kids while the wife unit is out of town.
Suits and Breaking Bad will be the only things I'll watch this summer.
How I met your mother was a good series as well but the stories and jokes have diminished.
Movies have all sucked lately. Only thing to look forward to is Batman Rises and maybe Spiderman.
I know this isn't a movie or tv series, but I am currently watching Louis C.K. on netflix. Is this dude really funny or am I just really drunk?
I just finished the fifth season of Mad Men and I cannot wait for the sixth to start up in the Fall. During the meantime, I'm going to be watching The Sopranos. I watched the first two seasons years ago, but had never got around to finishing it.
Breaking Bad is back!!!
I'm working my way through both Top Gear and Futurama on Netflix streaming.
Everything I like they fuggen cancel:
Eleventh Hour
Shark
Cold Case
Law and Order
Law and Order Criminal Intent
In Plain Sight
and my favorite:
Desperate Housewives:smiley36:
USA has all the good stuff:
Burn Notice
Suits
Covert Affairs
Necessary Roughness (well sort of okay....)
Fairly Legal
Royal Pains
One show on ABC I kinda like is:
Revenge
Other than that, the networks don't have much these days.
I don't have the bullshit extended cable package for a thousand twenty dollars a month so I never watch HBO or Cinemax or Showtime or Movie Channel, Hell, I don't know if any of those even still exist. Back in the early 1980s, I bought a large satellite dish antenna which allowed you to get all those for free AND all the sports feeds were free. That was pretty cool because there were no commercials and you could hear the announcers talking in the booth during commercials which was pretty funny. In the late 80s, they started scrambling all those things so even thought my 10' dish is still in the back yard, I haven't used it in over 25 years.
I hear that. You named a couple Law and Order shows the wife and I enjoyed.
There are a couple other series' that started, and stopped, quite quickly in recent years that we liked:
- Lie to Me
- Finder
And, they're cancelling Fringe which my wife likes a lot.
Recently my wife and I started watching reruns of "How I Met Your Mother" and now we have the first 6 seasons (I think it's six, I'd have to check with her) on DVD and we're working our way through them.
Just started Breaking Bad! It's amazingly dark, but so good.
Breaking Bad only gets better and better. I'm on season 3 currently.
So far the summer has produced some decent movies. Ted was hilarious and I thought batman and spider man were really good too.
Anyone else excited for the nitro circus movie? Pastrana was on Leno last night and they played a clip that was pretty badass.
Watched Serpico last night.
Tonight: Conan the Barbarian
I tried watching the latest one but stopepd the movie after about 15 minutes. I don't know why, I just didn't like it.
The older one may be ab it hokier than the new one, and let's face it, Arnold barely knew any English when he did Conan the Barbarian, but I still prefer it.
Now you got me thinking it's time to watch it again. I wonder if it's available on Netflix.....
Suits on USA.:smiley20:
I watched the pilot for that new show on USA called Graceland. Started off kinda dumb but it got better and had a great ending. Could be promising but the jury's still out for me.
I watched the movie Space Cowboys a few weeks ago and it was great. My wife forced me to watch You Got Mail last week which she really liked but I wasn't all that big on it.
Over the past year I've watched some great old movies on AMC and TCM, mostly from the 1940s.
Shark Tank. :smiley20:
...and can't wait for Last Man Standing to start back up.
Not enjoying Hell's Kitchen and Master Chef much this year. And Big Bang is rerunning the same thing over and over on multiple stations. I really liked the show, but man is it starting to get old...
I enjoyed Shark Tank for a while then quit watching for some reason. I should give it a try again soon. Also agree about Big Bang.
I somehow missed Arrested Development years ago. I am going through them all on Netflix now. Really
funny show.
Anyone know when Breaking Bad gets fired back up?
* fared back up. If you are in the Southern US like me.
