Let them rest it was 102 here when i sent them.
I elected not to send a humipack in the box due to the heat i didn't think it would be a good idea to add extra humidity in this heat :smiley36:
Crap i better get off my ass and work on some sig tags.

Well, they just arrived in the mail and they look great! They are sitting in my humidor now for the next few days.
Alright, unfortunately I just couldn't wait because tonight was the last night I'll have to smoke for at least a few weeks.
Here's how it went:
I pulled the dark torpedo puro out of my 65 rH humidor and gave it a nice glance over. The first thing that I noticed was the triple cap on this short torpedo was very stubby compared to many others I have seen. It had a terrific pre-light aroma of rich earthy tobacco. The stick had a very nice and heavy/tight construction to it. I slowly toasted the end until it got a nice even burn. The draw was on the heavy side, but the first few puffs were very rich and tasted like almost like a leathery cocoa. The ash was a beautiful white and held on for just over an inch. My initial reaction was that it tasted much like the last Oliva V that I had a few weeks ago, which is a Nicaraguan puro. However the next third really threw me for a loop. I would have the say the next two thirds tasted like rich and heavy earthy tobacco. The stick was pretty full bodied, and while I didn't experience a massive nicotine rush, it certainly had a lot of power. I have had this taste before in another stick and that was an LFD.
So, to much avail, I'm going to say that this was a puro strait out of the Dominican Republic
Although, in the back of my mind I know how tricky you guys might try and be. I have to say I wouldn't be surprised if it was an ISOM or some random cigar producing country, such as Peru or Jamaica.
Congratulations Cody you are the first loser :smiley36:
You Just smoked a El Baton a Nicaraguan puro.
I should have just stuck with my gut. This stick tasted a lot like an Oliva V.
My proposed puts are:
La Aroma De Cuba Mi Amor Robusto
Alec Bradley Prensado Robusto
La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Chisel
The pot already looks good! :smiley16:
Lemme know if y'all need my address.
1st Loser,

I was torn between Honduran and Dominian. In the end there wasn't enough mulch, compost, humus profile. I'm gonna say:
HONDURAN
:smiley13:
That was a good old Oliva V double Robusto strait out of Nicaragua.

There's the link to it in my Photobucket. Not really sure why the html or the [IMG] link tags aren't working?

just copy that link and remove the two spaces before and after the []'s and it should work perfectly.
Got the cigars today, will likely fire up the puro Monday.
Robusto sized cigar, natural to dark natural, nice solid construction with a triple cap and tight bunching. Tight draw, light sweet woody prelight taste. Not a lot of smoke, massaged it a bit to get the draw to open up a tad. Ash light gray held for about an inch. Burn was nice and sharp for the duration. Flavor was sweet wood, musty maybe, left the mouth a little dry feeling. Profile didn't change much, was pleasant, I nubbed it. It lacked spice and didn't have a bite, leading me to think DR. Last time I guessed DR though I got burned because Will cheated. It reminded me of a San Cristobal I had a couple months ago, which was mild and sweet IIRC. So I'll say Nicaraguan and expect you to tell me Dominican.
Liked it, thanks John. :smiley20:
Nice guess Buzz, lets give it a day or 2 for FightingFish to announce if you won or lost.
If he don't speak up in a day or so ill let you know what cigar you smoked.
Well I'm glad you at least enjoyed that cigar. Because, you won't be enjoying any of the 'pot'. From the D.R., travel 2-3 thousand miles south-east and you will find the country of origin... Brazil. It was a Monte Pascoal Robusto.

I found these sticks at my local liqour store, I know it's a tough country. But, hey, that was a pretty sweet pot.:smiley12:
Oh dang, that was going to be my next guess! Interesting cigar, thanks again.
Brazil... You're a real cold fish.:smiley36:I'll get to work on a great loser tag tonight!
kingbeefy the pot is looking real good. :smiley4:
I will up date Buzz's additions when he digs in the glove compartment of his car and see whats hiding under the gape white owls he has been smoking.
Buzz already told me he is sending a Russian puro. Is that cheating?
"gape" white owls
Those sound interesting.
As an aside, Dona Flor (another cigar from Brazil) is being distributed in the USA again - I guess that the legal issues have all been resolved.
On their way, moved up to the medium box size, DC# 9405 5036 9930 0087 0119 50.
For fun I took the bands off all of the cigars...
and of course, there's a lizard in there.
