Made it by the shop today and they were out of both the Laphroaig and the Lagavulin :smiley6:
But I did find a nice bottle of The Macallan Cask Strength. :smiley1:
Wow what a great taste!! Seems to be fuller in taste than the Glenfiddich 18 year I had last.

I enjoy these neat when I'm out for a drink:
Lagavulin
Oban
Auchentoshan
But the go-to is Laphroaig
I also enjoy Glenlivet French Oak is nice as well.
hi DeeDubya
the 12 year MacAllan is 86 proof
the cask strength is 116 proof, straight from the cask, non filtered and non-diluted
It packs quite a bit more punch and flavor, especially if you add a splash of water to open it up a bit :smiley1:
if you drink it neat, a little bit goes quite a long way!

Picked up a bottle of Johnnie Walker Black Label yesterday. Can't wait to try this with a cigar this evening. :smiley20:
Should be very tasty.
Super Necro bump.
I have been dabbling in Scotch in this new year.
Tonight I had some The Balvenie. Very good.
I have found a very cheap, very good single malt Highland Scotch at Trader Joe's. It's a 10 yr old under their own label, but for about $20 - one of the best deals I've found. Very pleasant Scotch - I highly recommend it!
I'm really hooked on Dalmore. I have a bottle of King Alexander I occasionally dip into, but generally enjoy their 18 yr. Also picked up a couple of bottles of Dalwhinnie - also a bit of a favorite of mine.
Monkey Shoulder is an excellent blended Scotch that is now available over here stateside. It is $35 a bottle here in PA and I highly recommend it.
Yep, can't go wrong with Monkey Shoulder. AVB on CP highly recommended it and quite a few guys over there really enjoyed it. I got it once before in one of the Scotch buys, this was before it was released stateside, and was glad when they brought it over here.
Glad you enjoyed it!:smiley20:
Sipping just a little laphroaig tonight. Mmmmm burning hospital with sardine and a dash of termite dust!
Laphroaig quarter cask. This is really tasty.
Picked up a bottle of Laphroaig 18yr and Highland Park 12 and had a splash or two of both.
Wow. Wow. I'm really enjoying this peaty side of the spectrum.
Continuing down this path, I picked up a bottle of the 10yr Ardbeg today. Smooth and delicious.
