Three days in Montreal. Need I say more?
I think we may have located all the pieces. He'll want to be in his best shape tomorrow...
He seems to be taking it in stride:

As an aside, as I am quite ignorant of European cultural mores, I have discovered that having a garden gnome is considered to indicate one's sexual preference (much as, a few years ago, a male smoking a very large ring gauge cigar would be indicative ... or a female driving a Jeep.)
Ah, the things one learns in a conference full of school teachers ...
Ok. Here's my proposals:
Take: AVO robo; Put: A Fuente Hemmingway Maduro ~ Signature
Take: Padron Maduro 1926 Serie ~ #35; Put: Liga Privada #9 ~ Toro
Take: LaDC ~ Belicoso; Put: Savinelli R&R ~ Double Robusto
If this sounds ok, I should have Wimbel on his way early this week. I think he had a great time. I'll post some of his relaxing adventures in a minute.
Oh, and there is a bonus!!!
So, Saturyday I realized there was a La Sirena event at the shop....and guess who was there? Arielle Ditkowich.
Of course, Wimbel wanted to meet her. Very charming:

So, Wimbel was telling Arielle about the pass, what we do etc. and being the gracious brand ambassador she is, she sent along some La Sirena cigars for everyone to try. She also included a note:

Note reads: "It was so nice meeing Wimbel, we sent him home with some extra cigars for the pass. Please enjoy a La Sirena compliments of the Mermaid! Can't wait to see the pictures on Facebook!! XOXO Arielle and (Chris Leyro I think...I can't quite read his sig. aka Chico)
Craig, I can bring you one for the QSH. Roham, I'll need Sailor's addy to send him his sample, and I think there will be enough to cover everyone...
So, that was nice. We headed back to the house, and I gave Wimbel a little taste of the region...
We came back in through Minersville, where I showed Wimbel one of Reading Anthracite's strip mine operations:

Then, we hit St. Peter & Paul's Russian Orthadox church. I'm not sure all the areas these are in, but there is a large concentration in Minersville & St. Clair.

I was showing Wimbel some of the participants of the Federal buyout program, where flooded houses are bought by the Feds, razed and the property is dedicated to the boro. Nothing can ever be built at these locations again. This was a result of the last flooding in 2011:

I think there are 22 properties slated. We're going to start looking like Centraila soon!
We got back to the house, and relaxed a bit with some Stone IPA. Wimbel can really put them back!

He helped me do some gardening. I planted tomato plants, peppers, and cucumbers:

He checked out my hop plants:

And he got along well with my wife:

Today was kinda laid back, and Wimbel oversaw the smoking of some pork chops, and sausage:

That's about it for today. Might have a few more surprise pics before he heads out.
Thanks for letting me join the pass, and for sharing a bit of badwhale's life with Wimbel!!!!
Wow, Wimbel is really getting out!
Nice pics Will. I'm glad you got the little guy fixed, he looks like he recovered quite well from his traveling accident.
Sure, Wimbel's happy. But how about that poor little feller that got an unexpected rectal exam? And all you did was snap a photo. Pfft, you were probably laughing the whole time too. Shame on you Will, ya big meanie!
Maybe she wanted it :smiley15:

Funny, I think I might have the same Audel's guides (or whatever the little black books on the shelf behind the gnome are called).
(I know I have the same/similar Makita electric drill, but that's not unique :smiley3: )
Yeah. He's getting a little bored here this week with me at the office and all, but he says it's still a nice break from chopping wood for the last 250 years.
Wimbel and his nut holder are close. There's nothing they don't share...:smiley3:
Maybe it was requested. Honestly, I came back in the room here, and they were like that.
Yep, Audel's guides. They were my grandfather's. Naturally, my dad got me an extra set that I keep upstairs on the bookcase.
I'll send Roham a PM to see if everything's ok. I'd like to get this out to mizikikikeisies52736984 this week and not have it cook in some USPS truck over Memorial day.
Hey guys, sorry for the late reply. Long weekend in Canada and was out camping with the wife. Left after work Saturday night and got back yesterday. Didn't really have a chance to check the net last night.
The puts/takes look awesome!!! I will update the list! And that extra gift is really something else. What perfect timing Wimbel has!!:smiley20:
Cool. My Audels were my Dad's.
One of my favorites from you Will is the Church one, beautiful. Also love the "rectal exam" cracked me up! What causes the flooding to those houses? If only they had had some gnomes in their yards at the time of flooding to help direct the flow of water all might of ended better:smiley12:
