Interesting question. When I first started smoking cigarettes, it seemed like the habit generated all kinds of saliva. When I was sneaking my ciggies behind the shed with my friend, we were both spitting like crazy. Then I got used to smoking and didn't have the need to empty out my mouth so frequently. However, when I started smoking cigars several months ago, the saliva was back and I was spitting alot again. Now, it seems my salivary glands have adjusted to the cigars a little better and the need to spit is greatly reduced. Of course, "ladies" don't spit in public, so if I do spit, it's when nobody else is looking.....at least no other boys..lol.

Depends on the wrapper. I find that naturals generally don't make me spit but some of the darker wraps do. Also I am more apt to spit towards the end of the smoke. I have always attributed that to the cigar getting wet and releasing more chemicals as well as tar build up. I usually use a punch for all my cigare and the limited opening generally collects more tar.

I do spit when I am smoking a cigar outside and don't have anything to drink handy. This happens when I am doing yardwork and also when I'm golfing and I have carried my cigar away from the cart. Other than that, no spitting when I have a nice cool drink by my side! :smiley14:

Almost never now. AT first I did and I was smoking cheap cigars then. Once in a while I do have the need to spit if I get a few hot pulls.
