Sorry to bust your stones but "THEIR":smiley17:
I built a bar in my basement about 15 years ago. It's 8 feet long and the top is 2 feet wide, made from oak flooring (on edge), I ran it through a planer to make it perfectly flat and finished it with that pour on thick epoxy polyurethane. The base is finished in rough cut pine and the back bar is pine as well.
It's not real fancy but it does the job. There's a bar sink under the bar.
I used to have a couple of pictures but I can't seem to find them. I'll try and take some in the near future and post them.
I suck at spelling :smiley6:
I looked for my pics but cant find them anywere I'll have to take some new ones.
I have a real nice liqure cabinet, but no pictures of it. It holds wine glasses, wine, and I have these different types of whishey: Moonshine, Bourbon, Scotch, Tennessee and Irish. I also keep some 3 Olives and Gin for the unrefined folks that manage to get through my door. I'm a big whiskey fan- love that stuff!
:smiley3: wow.
Looks lke it gets the job done.
wow, from your description i figured it would look "ok", but WOW. def not the nicest thing ever, but that is a sweet setup, i would love to have one like that
Heres mine. Had to take some new pics. Couldn't find the ones I was looking for

LMAO!!
See? That one makes mine look kinda ghetto!! :smiley36:
It has 6 bottles of vodka in the top (rectangles on the top in the first pic) Velvet lined shadow boxes that the bottles sit in then inlayed glass inserted into the top. Lighting under to make them glow in the dark. Sorry Pics are a bit big

Hey CC, is that a Pachinko(sp?) machine built into your wall?

YEP, you got it!!:smiley20: I'm pretty sure you spelled it correctly too!:smiley17:
My father bought that for my brother and I for Christmas back in the 1970s. We used to use it quite a bit back then and of course, it then just sat around not getting used. When I finished the basement back in the late 1980s and early 90s, I built it into the wall.
Wow, Nice bars both of you. They both look better than 1/2 the bars I've vistied in downtown Baltimore. Just let me know when happy hour is.
Oooooo, I gotta take some pictures of my bottles of booze......
I'll be back.....

The first one is a very nice 2003 Chateaux Lascombs Margeaux French Bordeau. The nicest bottle of wine I have. The 2nd and 3rd are bottles of Hopkins Vinyeard Cabernet Franc. The first one is a 2000 which was one of their best vintages ever and the second one is a 2002 which is good but not as good as the 2000. Hopkins Vineyard in Warren, CT is where my ex-wife is the manager. The 4th bottle is a Port from another Connecticut vineyard, Degrazi Vineyards. The last bottle is a California Merlot (Estancia).

Yukon Jack, Southern Comfort, Old Grand Dad Bourbon, Old Overholt Rye Whiskey and some cheap American blended whiskey (yuk) for making whiskey sours.
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...at86/Vodka.jpg
A couple of bottles of vodka, as you can see, I'm not too into vodka, LMAO! Two (Absolut and Stoli) for sipping and the Smirnoffs for mixing.
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...ingleMalts.jpg
OOOooooo, the SINGLE MALTS!!:smiley20:
The first three I got from AVB over on CigarPass, the fouth one (a relatively cheap Glenlivet 12yo) I've had forever and the last one was a gift from a BOTL as part of a cigar bet!
The third bottle, the Glenfiddich 21yo "Gran Reserva" is absolutely heavenly!! I was never a big single malt fan until AVB turned me onto this stuff and WOW is it GREAT!!
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...yCat86/Rum.jpg
Ahhhhh, the Rums!:smiley20:
Cheap Baccardi for mixing, Myers Dark Jamaican Rum (my favorite for rum & cokes), Mount Gay (a Barbados medium rum), Captain Morgan (I hate this shit but one of my card playing buddies drinks this crap by the gallons, LMAO!) and a nice bottle of Havana Club!!:smiley20:
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...ishWhiskey.jpg
Gotta have a couple of bottles of Irish Whiskey on hand for my Irish friends!!
Jameson 1780 and Tullamore Dew!
I never know when I may be entertaining musicians from the Dropkick Murphys or Flogging Molly, LMAO (yeah, in my dreams!!!).
:smiley21: On those vodkas LOL I love my vodka just not those nasty ones
The Other stuff I've never tried. I'd like to try some single malt but doubt I could stomach it
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...yCat86/Gin.jpg
Gin and vermouth!
Fleischmanns and Tanqueray for mixing, Bombay Sapphire and vermouth for martinis!:smiley20:
Damn the rums I could puke from smelling any rum :smiley11:
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...6/Cordials.jpg
Cordials for the women and lightweights, LMAO!
OH YEAH and a bottle of 100 proof Rumplemintz for the HARD CORES!
I used to have some Godiva liquers but I drank them all.....
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...t86/Cognac.jpg
COGNAC AND ARMAGNAC!!
Here are some NICE bottles!!
On the far left is a Remy Martin ash tray I picked up on eBay!
First one is a bottle of Remy Martin VSOP and the next one is a Remy Martin XO which is a higher grade of cognac.
The third bottle is an XO level Armagnac and the last one is a VS level Courvoisier.
:smiley36: :smiley36: :smiley36:
LMAO!! Yeah, like I said, I'm not a vodka connoisseur so I just keep the Smirnoffs on hand for mixing and I have a couple of friends that like Absolut and Stoli on the rocks.
Are they really THAT bad, again, I really don't know much about vodka...
Thanks Nate! I had a blast making that bar top. I found some old oak flooring in a guys barn and cut the tounge and grooves off, glued two 12" slabs together bowling alley style (with the oak boards having their edge showing up) and as I mentioned, ran them through a planer then poured that two-part epoxy finish over the bar. You may have seen bars in the past where they put some kind of coins or currency or photographs on the top then pour this thick stuff over them so they become part of the bar top. The finish is pretty thick, maybe even as much as 1/8 of an inch.
Stoli isn't the worst but I don't like it. I have drank many of vodka in my drinking day. Only top shelf stuff will do. I can tell 95% of the time if a vodka is good quality from the smell and taste. This may sound weird and think it's not possible but I can tell a quality vodka in a blind taste test after 5-6 drinks. After 5-6 of a crappy vodka like a Absolute my neck stiffens up and I can barely move it. Like I sleeping on it wrong all night and you got to turn your whole body just to turn your head to see something. It's crazy sounding but true
My favs are Level which is actualy made by Absolute but is a top shelf (eating my previous statement about Absolute :smiley18: )
Armadale - This stuff is extra smooth.
Ciroc - made from snap frost grapes not grain like most every other vodka out
GrayGoose - great vodaks that can be found at any bar
All are in the $35+ range which is kind of on the high side for vodkas
Here's me and my Boone's Farm stock.

Cost all of $20 to make...:smiley36:
I just recently acquired a new kind of booze I'm really digging: "Armagnac" (top shelf second bottle on the left).

Living by the wineries in California, it's almost seems mandatory to have one of these if you're into wine. Like cigars, you can build a collection pretty quick and wine is also just as picky about being stored in the "right conditions." I couldn't believe how much of a difference "white wines" tasted when storing them at the right temperatures (around 45+). Used to drink them straight from the fridge. By doing that, you lose a lot of the "flavor profile" because the fridge is a lot colder.
Great part is these wine fridges have come down a lot in price.
You have good taste, it's one of my favorites for martinis...:smiley20:Quote:

BTW, I think your bartop looks fantastic. My dad had a Pachinko machine and when my sister and I went to visit we played with that damn thing ALOT.
How about Ketel One? I'm a big fan but I haven't tried all the other ones you've mentioned other than grey goose and the cheapies.
