What is your planned cigar to toast in the new year? Since 2012 is the end of the world...my choices (NC). Then later on we go to the islands...but I'll keep that to myself.

I dunno. Depends on when we get back from the NYE party at my friend's. We don't wait up for the ball these days, so it will depend on when my little girl gets to sleep.
Maybe an Anejo 48, but it could just be a Padron 3000.
Will
I'm eyeing a Partagas Lusitania, a Cohiba 30th Anniversary, or a Forbidden X Petit Lancelot 2004. There should be no doubt, though, I will be pairing my cigar with Dalmore King Alexander III!
Nice choices guys...badwhale...is that natural or maduro 3000? I've had the maduro and it was choice. Between the Anejo and the 3000, you'll be smoking some good stuff either way.
Partagas Serie D no. 4.....I think. My mind isn't made up yet. :smiley37:
Avo Limited Edition 2011 Diadema
A Sir Winnie from a few years ago, or maybe my last MBI, or perhaps a Padron lonnie maduro, or a Famous VSL Honduran, or an El cobre....or whatever I happen to latch onto when the humi opens. Doesn't really matter, I don't think there's anything left in there I don't like. :smiley2:
I've been smoking off all of my singles during 2011, so I'll probably smoke the two that I have left - a WOAM and a Perfexcion X from last year's draft.
As for drink, Havana Club Cuban Barrel Proof with the WOAM, and Alberta Premium (the only "real" Canadian Rye whisky made these days) 25 year old with the Opus.
I made a bet with my wife that I could go all year without a drink so I'll be hitting the last of my Johnny Walker Blue with a Lusitania and a Partagas 160 :smiley37:
I hope the winnings are worth it! :smiley3:
Viaje Satori & as much Morovino Mezzanotte di Morovino as it takes. :smiley17:
Padron serie 1926.
I read it too fast and I subconsciously added the words "and LOST" after "I made a bet with my wife that I could go all year without a drink" so I was thinking that CigarBear had made a bet with his wife last New Year's Eve, lost the bet the next day and has hitting the sauce all year because hey, why not, he already lost the bet and he was going to make another stab at the bet again this New Year's Eve.
If you were able to follow all that, AMG's reply made perfect sense to me!:smiley4::smiley20:
I'm probably not going to be smoking a cigar on New Year's Eve so I have no value to add to this thread.:smiley19:
Victory01 and CoventryCat86...I'll smoke one for each of you...I don't mind...:smiley37:
Forty Creek is very good, but, like almost all other Canadian 'Rye' Whiskey, it is a blend of various grains. Rye is a component - Maize (Indian Corn), Barley, and Rye are used in Forty Creek's case. Although American Rye Whiskey has to be at least 51% distilled from Rye, there is no similar requirement anymore in Canada. Canadian 'Rye' just has to have the taste characteristic of "Canadian Whiskey" - it doesn't even have to have Rye in it (http://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/r...-B.02.020.html)
To correct myself, there are actually a few other 100% Ryes besides Alberta distiller's brands (Premium (5yr IIRC), Springs (10yr IIRC), and Limited 25 year and 30 year - unfortunately, the last two are sold out AFAIK), but Alberta (currently owned by Beam) is the most widely available.
I'll be reaching in my ISOM humi and smoking something that I pull out. For das drink, I'll be enjoy something from Belgium, maybe a Abbaye des Premonres or a Grimbergen Blanche. I'll be at my Brother in laws house so I know he'll have a smoke also. :smiley37:

I have a Padron 64 that Paddy sent that will probably be smoked as this year's last moments tick away.
Starting to thread jack here...but thanks for the info. I guess your a pretty avid whiskey drinker. I'm not too familiar with it, but I hear Forty Creek is coming out with a line that focuses on one grain per blend. I believe there will be 3 different bottles coming out soon.
It's not much of a stretch at this point to be honest. I don't drink that much anymore since I started running. Her bet is that she won't gamble for a year. The winner, aside from bragging rights, gets a fat casino trip or a computerized wood carver. I don't think she can do it but for the fact that she's freakishly competitive. I think I'll end up better off in the end either way :smiley37:
I used to drink whiskey (and whisky) mostly, but once I found Havana Club 7, I now usually drink rum when I do drink. (I drink alcohol incredibly rarely now - I had to go dry for a year a while ago, and never found really started drinking regularly again.) I still have half a case of Alberta Premium 25 year, though - it doesn't go bad. :-)
I've been trying to decide between two cigars. An Opus X figurado, or the new Cohiba Diamonte Edicion (I think I spelled that right). Or perhaps a Winston Churchill robusto by Davidoff.
King Edward and Budweiser
Victory01...does that include every type of gambling? Lotto, bingo, scratch off, office pools, or even friendly wagers like..."I bet you so and so..." Good luckto you both...

I've been running pretty regularly for a couple years now. I ran the Seattle Marathon in Nov but will be sticking to shorter distances this year and working on my speed. Which marathon are you looking at? I can't remember where in Germany your stationed but Berlin is one of the fastest courses in the world.
Todd
I have a Padron serie 1926 Maduro 40th anniversary that is calling my name, I do believe I will smoke that one!
I'm not sure if I want to run in one here, France, or back in the states. I've been looking at maybe trying to run in one in San Fransisco area and catch a 9ers home game. Still in the planning phase. I'm in southern Germany, however, I have been looking at the Berlin Marathon as an option.
