REO by Rocky Patel. They are a great cigar. CI will have them soon. They are about $4/cigar.

hex can have 'em too,.if he calls me...
Had a Punch Gran Puro that was pretty good. I don't smoke enough Robustos to say what my favorite is yet.
You might need to notify CigarsInternational of your findings. This is what they have posted on their site.Quote:

An exciting cigar with Rocky Patel at the helm.
REO is the combined effort of Rocky Patel and United Tobacco, owners of the short-lived Series 'X'. Made by hand in Honduras, this attractive premium employs a dark, 5 year old Costa Rican Sumatra wrapper to conceal an aged mixture of Honduran and Nicaraguan long-fillers, bunched inside a flavorful Nicaraguan binder leaf. Introductions begin with a spicy hello, only to request that you sit back and relax while the smooth, rich flavors take over. Rolled into a slightly box-pressed shape, this handsome cigar is just as pleasing to the palate as it is to the eye. A medium to full-bodied joy to smoke.
Fans of the RP Vintage ‘90 or ’92 should enjoy this cigar thoroughly. A deep, complex smoking experience that’s slow burning and smooth.
RASS Kicks Ass

ci is wrong...the brand is owned by eddie ortega...and erik espinosa.....they happen to be friends of mine, and i sell the line...i'm guessing i know a bit more about the cigar than you do.....
Partagas Black Clasico
If you count figurados, AF Hemingway Short Story
Otherwise, I think CAO Brazilia Gol!
poppapuff, name dropping aside, settle down, Jonesy is just telling you what CI's website says, and he really wants you to let them know, he's not playing smart ass.
Tell me where I claimed that I knew more than anyone else on this site? I was simply posting what CI had written on this cigar, so that maybe some people could give thier input. Let me worship you "All Mighty" becuase you know everything about this cigar....oh wait, i meant....Quote:

name dropping??.....they happen to be friends of mine (as is rocky patel,btw)........i don't really think that was name dropping...i really don't give a flying fvck about CI...they're wrong in stating that the reo and vibe are rocky patel's cigars......he was involved (to a small degree) in the blending of both cigars.
the cigars are made in the portion of nestor plasencia's factory where rocky's cigars are made.
now, after years in the biz,if you want to learn some of what i might know...that's fine.
if you want to accuse me of name dropping...you can kiss my ass......
Well if you have a problem, why don't you address CI with your wealth of knowlage. Instead of attacking me for no reason you piece of shit! :smiley38:
Who does the blending of the REO?
the blending was done by eddie, erik, and to a lesser degree,rocky.....based on the tobacco's available......the vibe was going to be made by caribe...but both are being made by rocky....
I would try and answer that for you, but, there is a good chance that BigPoppaPuff will go nuts again and flex his muscles to show everyone he knows all! He should be able to answer that for you, he'll just ask his buddies...you know the makers!Quote:

I just called CI... They're changing the name on the site:
Reo by Eddie Ortega, Erik Espinosa, and to a lesser degree Rocky Patel
Bigpoppa,
Everyone here knows I am slow at best but you just said both the vibe and REO are made by Rocky. Right?
And I have no clue how blending works. How does a blend come about with two primary and a smaller degree participant.
Thank you in advance.
LMAO,thanks for updating themQuote:

...in this case, eddie, eric and rocky probably sat around and tested various blends...when they hit on what they wanted...that finished the blending process.......
rocky has a section of nestor plasencia's factory...in that section of the factory, the cigars are made...rolled,bunched,and boxed.....
blending a cigar is the process of combining the various tobacco's that will go into the making of the cigar.....
clear??...i hope so....
as an addition to my prior post,as to why rocky would be a lesser participant......the brands, reo and vibe are owned by eddie and erik.....rocky has his own brands to worry about......the final decision as to what the owners want should be from the owners....
Ask bigpoppapuff any cigar question you want and he will answer it. Don't get your panties in a wad cause a lot of the old dudes who have been smoking and on cigar boards have answered the same questions fiftyeleven times . I can be a nice guy or an arrogant prick who won't tell you shit .
You can alawys look up a cigar mfgrs site and call them,I did and spoke at lenght with Eddie Ortega. He is just a guy who makes cigars and knows a lot about it too.
K7
Aw, crap.
I called CI AGAIN and asked them to change the label AGAIN...
I suggested:
Reo by Eddie Ortega, Erik Espinosa, and to a lesser degree Rocky Patel but made in Nestor Plasencia's factory
Bad news, they didn't like the idea.
They've decided to go with the rollers names on the brand.
As a result, the new product will be advertised as
Reo by Pedro
Reo by Manny
etc.
That ain't right either g'dammit. It's et al., NOT etc.! Call 'em back! latin illiterates. sheesh. :smiley26:Quote:
