Not only is it against the rules here talumn, it's tacky as hell to start asking questions like this without becoming a part of the community first. Now, your best bet is to apologize and take the flaming you are about to enjoy and overcome it, or logoff and never come back if you are thin skinned and can't handle a proper flaming. Either way, buckle up! :smiley37:
ptff.. :smiley51:
How come it says buy cuban cigar in the cigar store if they are not to be talked about
i have a question for you...is there some reason you wanna buy cubans??...have you tried cigars from the D.R.,nicaragua or honduras??....
Ok, I'll say this before this thread spins out of control:
I personally believe that a newbie coming on asking to by cubans is bad form, but an honest mistake. It's not necessarily grounds for an automatic flaming. HOWEVER, how he/she responds to being corrected should dictate how the other members respond.
talumn, just say "sorry, my bad" and enjoy your stay here. If you start trying to argue, duck and cover.

The simplest answer is to emigrate.
Hi All
I'm an English salsa dance teacher, living in England, who travels to Cuba several times a year. I can bring a box of Cuban cigars back to England with me each time, perfectly legally. As I don't smoke (I know - shock, horror!) I was going to ask here to see if anyone wants me to bring them back their choice of cigars, with seals, store receipt & plane ticket stubs.
Having read the beginning of this thread, I'm now confused as to whether this would be doing anything wrong? The offer would not be aimed particularly at US citizens and it's only them who can't buy Cuban cigars, right? Would it be breaking some kind of forum etiquette? I'm not fishing, I just want to know whether it would be ok to post the above...if not, I'll remove it straight away.
Thank you! :smiley1:

Amanda,
I travel to England on a regular basis and would LOVE to learn how to salsa dance. I already know some ballroom dancing like the Lindy Hop, the Charleston and Jitter Bug. I'd like to learn Tango and Salsa but there really aren't any good instructors or schools around me.
Can you please send me a PM with your contact information? I would love to meet up with you the next time I am in England which will be the end of February.
Thank you!!!
I thought people might object somehow to what I was saying, but not that they'd think I'm someone else! Amanda is a nice name, not 'lame' at all, thank you! I have a web site www.trulymadlysalsa.com, which would be a litte elaborate for a practical joke and an English mobile number - feel free to call or text me on 07931708170 (I believe the code from US is 0044 and miss off the first 0 from my number). My usual email is hotmail, but you can use trulymadlysalsa@homechoice.co.uk - though I can only access this at home in London and I'm off to Cuba on 12th January.
If people still think I'm not me (!), can you tell me hypothetically then, if there would be anything wrong with duplicating my original post on a few cigar forums, if there's no interest here? Any advice greatly appreciated.....hey, have a free class in Bar Cuba in Kensington, next time you're in London. :smiley1:
TrulyMadlySalsa,
We had a "problem" here a couple of months ago with a person named "Amanda" who wound up being banned so please excuse some our our membership for being a little skeptical:smiley4:
Welcome to CigarSmokers and thank you for your generous offer to purchase cigars for our membership.:smiley20:
Aha! Thanks Cat. I've got a (female) friend who deleted a couple of emails I sent her cos they were all mixed in with internet spam for Viagra and dodgy porn sites, also from "Amanda"! It just seems to be one of those names...
If anyone would like me to bring them back cigars, just drop me a PM or email - I'm off to Havana on Thursday 12th and the internet there is slooooooow, so better if it's before.
A x
I gotta ask.. Why do you bring back cigars from Cuba if Cuban cigars are completely legal in the UK? Is VAT really that bad?
You ever been to the UK? Prices there are nuts.Quote:

VAT is 17.5%...I've never brought cigars back to the UK before, cos I don't smoke. I hear that Cuban cigars cost at least twice as much in England as in Cuba, with a limited range available, and that they cost 3 times as much in the USA.
But like I said, I'm new to all this...
