Orlando, Florida, at the Disney Showcase soccer tournament. My kid has recently changed teams and they are travelin' fools.
Staying home away from the drunks and the cops.
Gonna sip a little HC7 and chill out with the wife. :smiley41:

Bumped this as I thought maybe members plans had firmed up some since the original post.....
Well every year we throw a small party, usually it has been at my brother's place down in Niagara Falls but since he and his wife split up we are holding it at our new pad (A house). We try to keep it small and intimate, although I am a big partyer, for some reason these days I prefer New Years to be more low key, good close friends and family. I think this year will be one of the largest with 14 people or so, since my wife has made her own friends here since we moved from Germany 2 years ago. We will carry on the tradition of good drinks, a buffet, and lots of Jazz and 80s music :smiley2:. Some of us will definately pop out to the Cigar Loft above the garage for a nice cigar as tradition demands. Not sure what I will smoke this year since it has really only been a year since I have built up a proper set of humi's and smokes. Previously I have normally smoked a nice ISOM Romeo y Julietta Corona. Sometimes we have fireworks. My oldest friend and I always make a toast to those not yet born who will never see the years that we have been lucky enough to live.

I'll be working new years eve and get off work at 8am new years day. Joy...
I'll be spending it in Iowa with my extended family since my Grandma passed away yesterday.
I'm just glad that I wasn't away in the N. GA Mountains again this year like the last 2 with no working cell phone, etc

She was not in pain but had a lot of problems. The really hard thing to deal with is I'm in TX and my family is in Oregon. My Grandfather pasted away last year about this time and I had to deal with it here in TX. Now I have to do the same with my Grandmother.
No chance for any leave? That is tough to be seperated, I know, I was in the Navy and at sea when my grandfather died. I couldn't get home either. My thoughts are with you.

My New Year's plans consist of watching my kid play soccer. She's transferred to a new team and we arrived in Orlando this morning for one of the largest college coach showcase tournaments in the country. I am way pumped, as she has been on this team since November, traveling to OK, NC, CA, but this is the first time I get to see her play with them. Anyway, I'm in charge of one of the meals on New Year's Day, so New's Year's Eve will include to a trip to the store to lay in supplies. (In youth soccer, all holidays are tournament dates. Many clubs will let you know at the beginning of the soccer year which two weeks out of the year you may use for family vacation.) Incidentally, this team was finalist in the tourney last year, and won it the year before - Disney Showcase. It's pretty cool.
