There is a thread about a guy quitting smoking (cigarettes). It seems as though a lot of you smoke cigarettes. I was just wondering if you could all let me know if you do or not. I am just curious. Just so you know, I do not smoke cigarettes, unless I am really drunk of course, but rarely even then.
I've never smoked a cigarette. Smoking is bad for you.
i smoked for about 3 years only like 5-10 a day, nothing huge like a lot of guys on here but still tough to quit
i've been "clean" for 2.5 months or so
i've NEVER had a cigarette...not a one....
I can count on one hand the number of cigarettes I have smoked in my life.
Never smoked a cigarette; I was smart and went straight for the patch.
Having lived around Cigarette chain smokers, I couldn't stand the smell of them. So in my latter years of seeking a College education I had to try one while at the bar when my cigar was nubbed. My first impression was how could any one smoke something so foul and put it out. Never tried one again.
I smoked part of one in high school. Never again.
I tried to smoke one when I didnt have any cigars left. :smiley11: Never again
I haven't smoked 'ettes since primary school (when I was about 12... maybe 25 years ago). Even then it was probably only about a pack in total.
Though I have been smoking a few cigarillos recently, so a few people at work now think I smoke 'ettes.
Like a chimney, too damn many every day.
Smooked 2 pack a day for 20 years. Put em down one cold Sat about 8 yeras ago and never had another
I'd have the rare butt while out drinking in college but haven't touched them in years.
Same for me but only quit in July '06. Slipped a couple of times since then, but only minor ones.Quote:

I had one last night at the Predator's game... EW!!!! I can say so far in 2007 I've had a total of 2 and both wanted to make me not do it again for a while.

Reminds me of a time when I was 14-15. I grew up in a small town where everyone knew everyone, and kids could still go to the store and buy tobacco "for the parents". All of my friends were dipping Skoal at the time, and so I decided to try it out. I went out on the back patio and put a pinch in, almost instantly, I became sick. About an hour later my dad came home and peeped in at me laying across my bed, in my ill state, I did hide the can too well. He saw it and put 2+2 together. Only thing he said "You better get better soon, your'e going to finish that can tonight before you throw it away". He's a great dad, I only realized this in the last 10 or so years.Quote:

I smoked for a few years in high school. Then decided it was stupid and smoking didn't make me "cool". So I quit. Haven't had one for like 4 years and don't ever plan to again.
Personally, I don't understand how some people are "seasonal" or occasional smokers. Like my roomate always smokes in the summer. I think its dumb.
I think BPP has had some limited success at quitting cigarettes...

I have had two puffs in my LIFE.
First was a Malboro light I think....blah...thought to myself...WTF why would anyone ever...
Second was a menthol....Benson and Hedges....thought...not too bad...but also realized...I don't want THAT in my lungs.

Quit cigarettes in '92. Haven't touched them since. I was concerned that smoking cigars would "trigger" cigarette cravings. Hasn't happened. I think I look too much forward to having a cigar to want to fuck it up with a cigarette.
I am about nicotine equality. I sometimes smoke cigerettes when i have no cigars, partying or if I am offered. I tend to stick to cigars and Nakhila. I tried dipping once coming back from a shooting range in my friend's beat up old mini van... worst ride of my life keeping the vomit in.
No cigarettes for me.
I smoked a pack a day for about 10 years, then quit. I will have a few when I'm hammered. They taste like crap when I'm sober, especially since I've started smoking cigars regularly!!
There is a more refined air about smoking cigars than cigarettes. On of the last cigarettes I had about two years ago was about six months after I started smoking cigars. Like a lot of you commented, cigarettes taste like shit and I think that feeling is amplified after becoming a cigar smoker. Just my thoughts. Talk to you all later.
I tried to inhale them but never could (thankfully). I hate the damn things.

I smoked for 10 years, about a pack a day. Quit cold turkey 2 years ago and after a few months of success I bought a cigar as celebration... The rest is history.

I must say that that was the best decision I have ever made in my lify. I feel SOOOOO much better now. Gone is the chronic coughing and illnesses.
I just started smoking sticks about 6 months ago. I only smoke them outside and away from my son. I must admit that I do enjoy a good stick, a Killian's beer or pretty much anything Sam Adams and a book out on the back porch. :smiley41:
I'm afraid I have to retract what I said. I forgot that when I am on cruise ships, and I am in the bar, and I start drinking, well, if they won't let me smoke cigars in there, I buy and smoke Marlboros. But that was before I started smoking cigars, i don't think I'll ever smoke cigs again.
