Dog Sled Races
This is pretty cool, I had to share... my wife tried dog sled racing last year, using two Samoyed dogs that we inherited from her mother when she passed away. The races were fun for her and a neat way for her to do something in remembrance of her mom. A reporter ended up writing a short article about my wife since it was her first time racing and mentioned her mom as well - it was cool. Here are some pics of that race last year: http://www.cigarsmokers.com/threads/...380#post161380
So, we have been planning on heading back up there this month for the races again, and Alina received the flyer that they are sending everyone about the racing event:

The cool thing is that the picture at the top is of my wife! She had no idea so she was pretty stoked to see it. For those of you who know about Mochi, that is her in the middle. And, as it turns out, they apparantly used this picture on a billboard up in Pinetop! Anyway, I thought it was pretty cool, when we are up there we'll have to find the billboard and take a picture of it.
Hey Look! An idol! Oh wait, nope... it's not an idol... bummer.

So we had a great time last weekend - Alina did very well in the races and had an absolute blast. She raced in the longer race this year and used 4 dogs instead of 3. I've got a video that I'll upload later. We missed Mochi very much, but overall we had a great time together and I had a blast cheering for her and watching the dogs do what they love.
