Is that one of the rare #77 sharks with a lick mark down the entire length of it form BadWhale?:smiley11:
I have a Torano Valt that i only smoked half of laying in the ashtray and im chewing on a new Diesel have no idea what the name is just a blue and silver band on it, but it taste good.:smiley20:
On a serious note hold on to that shark its not a bad cigar at all with some age on it.:smiley20:
That's the real problem with getting cigars through this board. Sometimes they're too good for me to want to smoke; I feel like I need a special occasion for them.
I already have an Anejo #48 I won in a contest from badwhale last October; maybe I should find a good time to smoke that one and hold onto the new #77 for a while, as suggested.
This reminds me of a quote I recall from a wise man, who once said...
I too, have difficulty smoking some of the sticks in my humidor. But I remember this post and light 'em up. :smiley20: After, of course I take a couple pics and take notes on the cigar app on my phone that is. :smiley4:
prophetic_joe how are things going?
I am not rushing you to smoke the puro or anything just wanting to see if you are ok.
Hey guys sorry for the delay in posting. It has not been my summer. I got bronchitis like a month ago, the effects of which are still hanging on, I'm told it can linger for months. Well that compromised my immune system so I got the strep throat and cold, so I am taking the antibiotics for that and those coupled with the lowered immune system caused me to get the start of thrush. I am really sorry this is taking so long guys. I haven't gotten sick this much since I was in grade school.
Alright guys I have gotten a bit better and got rid of the crap that has been kicking my ass for the last month. I am extremely sorry for the delay in this. I have a review that I will post tomorrow but I have a teething child that is being a bit fussy right now so i will just post my guess so we can move on.

Good luck GreekTitan!
Not that it will probably matter, but I will be away for the weekend. Be back Tuesday.
Edit to add:
Whoops. Got a head of myself, thought I was right after TheGreekTitan.
I'm gonna need to drop out of this....sorry.
Viruses landed yesterday. The cigars are resting in a humi separated from my other sticks inside an open baggie. Hopefully it's not airborne yet.
I will smoke the puro over the long weekend sometime...maybe Monday. My review and guess will follow shortly thereafter.
PS Thanks for the gift Nate. Completely unnecessary but much appreciated. I am now the proud owner of a cigar once owned by "The Dudes'" father. I think I'll drink an white russian when I smoke the puro. :smiley20:
Okay, I finally got some time to sit and smoke the puro. Sorry for the delay.
Size: 6 x 48
Triple cap
Slightly reddish, toothy wrapper.
Some pronounced veins, no soft or hard spots..Well made and good looking.
Pre-light:
Taste of sweet tobacco with a medium draw.
Lighting:
I toasted the foot with a single flame torch. Then, lit with my trusty Bic.
1st Third:

Wow, this is strong. Immediately, my lips and tongue begin to tingle. Definitely full flavor and full strength right off the bat. I'm very glad I ate lunch beforehand. Have I said this cigar is strong?
I've tasted this and felt this sensation before. I think I know what stick this is right away.

The cigar burns straight. Not razor sharp, but certainly acceptable. The ash hangs on for about an inch and 1/4. Great tobacco flavor that is slightly sweet, but mostly very spicy. I'm too much of a wimp to attempt a retrohale at this point to try and pick out any more flavor.
2nd Third:

The spice has mellowed out quite a bit. Still a strong cigar with a really good flavor. I've gained the confidence to retrohale at this point and I'm glad I did. It brought the spice back, but not so much that it killed me. Definitely burned my nose hairs, but only the slightest bit of crying ensued. I had a couple small doubts about the identity during this third, but not enough to change my mind.
3rd Third:

This cigar has really settled in nicely. The spice that came back in the 2nd third remains and tastes great. I'm 1 hour and 40 minutes in and about to put it down. Quite a bit of tar flavor that completely takes over. It happened all of a sudden, so I'm very happy I got to smoke it almost to the nub.

Overall:
Really good smoke. Spicy and strong, with lots of billowing smoke. Never once did I have to touch it up, nor alter the way I smoke to accommodate the burn or smoke production. Very well made, and I would definitely like to smoke another one in the future.
Origin Guess:
Nicaragua
