Hello All!
Hey everyone, I've been browsing the forum for a few weeks looking around and I've really liked what I have seen. Everybody seems to hold each other to a high standard so I figured that I would try to get a bit of the "inside scoop". I'm brand new to cigars (as in my running total is 3). Ya that kind of new. The last time I went into my local shop, I asked for help. I told him I was new and looking for something mild that a first timer would be able to enjoy and build on for future times. He recommended Acid Kuba Kuba. =( So when I returned home to smoke it I was upset at myself for getting suckered into a rookie mistake. I see now after reading through the forums that they are looked down upon to say the least. I've been trying to come up with a list of some stuff that has been recommended to other new guys here and I've come up with a few.
Rocky Patel Connecticut
Padron 45
Oliva G and also the O series'
Arturo Fuente 858
So I'm attempting to work towards the more refined tastes of yourselves. I'll most likely be checking out a Newb Sampler very soon. Thank you all for your time and understanding. I look forward to learning all that I can to become one of you all.
Very Respectfully,
Fisk

Welcome from a fellow newbie to the board.
It's been a while since I have searched out a mild cigar, but I did smoke a Maroma Dulce that I got in a sampler recently that wasn't bad. It was a little sweet for my taste, but it wasn't bad. I smoked a Te Amo recently and thought it was heavenly, but there are others on here who are vehemently opposed to it.
I also like Don Thomas Classico, but I don't know what you would consider mild so it might be a little stronger than you are looking for.
Good luck and welcome to a life long passion.

Hi from Alberta, Canada
If you're a new cigar smoker I highly recommend you do a Newbie Sampler or two with some of the established members. Let them know you wish to try mild to medium cigars and keep a running list of what you've tried to submit to prospective sampler suppliers so they can avoid duplication.
It's a great way to get some good cigars for a good price and best of all, most of the folks doing samplers have been smoking cigars for a long time and know their sticks. It's a great way to ensure you get cigars you'll enjoy and not have any silly tricks pulled on you like you had at that store.
If you're new to cigars I'd also recommend you smoke them after a good meal....especially stronger cigars.

Connecticut is the key word for you. Those are generally as mild as mild can be. The mildest I've found is the Mark Twain line from Cigars International, which are also a genuine two-hour smoke, but I'd probably recommend the Olive Connecticut instead, as it tastes better to me.

Greetings and welcome from western Oregon.
As you explore cigars, don't be afraid of going above mild. My first couple small cigars that got me into this hobby was a Partagas Black Label and some mild one. I instantly liked the Partagas much better. Then again, I prefer my coffee black and beers stout.

Welcome from Fisk27 land. You must be a south-sider, we got a couple of them here.....
You may as well jump right to the expensive cigars like any Davidoffs. The mildest are the thousand series so start there and work your way up to the Puro 'd Oro or the Millenniums.
