I love Rush. Though sometimes I wish that they would stick with instrumentals and keep Geddy away from the mic.

listening to Dream Theater, one of my favorite bands

listening to their Once In A LIVEtime concert recording from Paris in 1998

fantastic setlist on that album IMO

Mike Portnoy + John Petrucci = fucking amazing

and Derek Sherinian on keyboard (before Jordan Rudess came along) and John Myung on bass are fantastic as well

James' voice works well with the band's music IMO but compared to the rest of the guys, it's hard to put him as high up as they are

nonetheless, John Petrucci's 8-minute solo is awesome, busting out LTE's Paradigm Shift and Flight of the Bumblebee in that solo is just crazy

and fucking Mike Portnoy and his double-bass pedals, he loves to go crazy with 'em but he knows what he's doing, i mean the guy's the youngest inductee into the drummer hall of fame (27 at the time i think)

anyway, enough about how awesome they are, i'm listening to 'em some more

I have the U2 Rattle and Hum CD in the car player right now.

This weekend was a good weekend for music - got turned on to Sharon Little, Bob Wayne, Explosions in the Sky. Going to download some of all of these.

I've had Widespread Panic: Live in the Classic City (Disc 2) in the CD player all week. Time for a change.
