My Father Le Bijou Cigars are the second installment of the My Father cigar lineup. A stellar blend that is rich and full bodied with lots of pepper and spice. The name Le Bijou is French for ''the jewel,'' and 1922 represents the year Jose ''Pepin'' Garcia's father was born. The original My Father was conceived by Pepin son Jaime as a tribute to his father, this new creation is Pepin's way of honoring his own father. The new cigars have an all-Nicaraguan blend with an Ecuadoran Habano Oscuro wrapper, a dark Colorado Maduro, enclosed are aged Nicaraguan fillers and binder. This blend is one of the most full bodied full cigars produced out of the My Father Cigar factory in Nicaragua. The cigar produces rich maduro flavors of chocolate and earth that coat the mouth, the construction is outstanding.

Miscellaneous:
My expectations for this cigar were high until I started seeing other reviews come in... I've enjoyed other vitolas of this cigar.	Working on a crossbow.
I've seen this construction before.	Judging on the looks of the wrapper alone, she resembles a Padron 64.
Smoked it way after supper so no influence of food or drink was in my palate.	Words With Friends / Angry Birds
Driving between pizzerias.	Lost power 10 min. in for unknown reason. Power came back on when I was almost finished.

Prelight Taste:
Good tobacco.	Earthy, grassy.
Sweet tobacco scent with some musty leather. Light tobacco on the cut prelight taste.	3 in 1 oil that I had on my hands transfered to the cigar yummy. Had a slightly sweet taste.
Muted spice, less than expected. Some cedar wood.	Nothing particular.
Nice on the tongue, but the cold draw is… sandy.	Could have used some salt.
Raisins and sweet tobacco.	Sweet tobacco-cedar
Typical tobacco. Like sucking through a garden hose. I can tell I'm going to have to be careful taking a draw.	Kind of woody with hints of spice but much lighter than expected.
Cigar has a few pronounced veins and a wrapper imperfections. The head on this cigar is off center and leaning to one side. These appearance issues suggest this stick is from the lower end of the spectrum. Prelight taste is somewhat grassy.	Very airy draw. Not much flavor. Hope I didn't screw up with all that hot sauce on my chicken.
Woody, leathery and sweet, not the wrapper but the overall pre light draw was sweet somehow.	Sweet, cedar, pepper, spice and leather.

Taste 1st Third:
Nothing remarkable...little harsh to start, but settled nicely.	Spicy, tasted earthy.
Light leather and oil. Spicy, hard core retrohale (holyshit!) Flavor falls short after that. Some residual oil, but it leaves a celery like aftertaste. Mellowing into...report on 2nd 3rd.	Started off with nothing standing out other than a oily taste.
First couple puffs had a nice spice, then gave way to dry-woody/earthy. Not bad, wish the spice had hung around a little longer. Reminds me of the standard My Father cigars. Fantastic amount of smoke, the draw is on the easy side, but exactly how I like it (so I say it's perfect). Not too strong, I'd say medium, maybe med-full.	The first puff gave a very strong kick of spice and lots of smoke. I had a hard time determining the major taste; woody or musky. I also picked up a slight hint of fruit. Towards the end of the 1st third, I ran into a bad burn issue and the cigar almost went out.
Whoah. Not what I was expecting. Started off hot and harsh and strong. Too much ligero for my liking. After an inch, the cigar has settled a bit, but is still power, power, power. I'm uncomfortably numb.	I don't taste much in the first third, paying more attention to things like the burn, smoke volume/draw.
Rich cocoa flavor right from the start. Chocolate cupcakes. Sturdy medium body, yet super smooth.	Some spice tobacco pepper.
Copious smoke. Too easy draw compared to what I prefer, but an agreeable flavor. Salted caramel on the finish. I'm worried about this booger Buzz wiped on Felicia.	Nice and smooth with that hint of spice present with a woody taste still. Again not as powerful as I was expecting but I would say a good solid medium body smoke. I am enjoying it so far. The only downside at this point is I had a bit of a split in the wrapper that I am having to baby a bit but the overall experience as of now has been good.
A puff on this stick generates an ample amount of smoke and the draw is right in the middle. I'm not noticing any spice, so I'm ruling out Nicaraguan tobacco. Pretty bland.	Harsh. Airy Draw.
Very woody and leathery but no sweetness.	I would describe this cigar as having a long finish. Woodsy and earthy flavors dominated the first third.

Taste 2nd Third:
Getting a little acrid...purge helped a bit.	Pretty much the same (Spicy, tasted earthy).
Musky sweet tobacco. More flavors coming out now. Still full body and flavor. A little toothy. Some light mint. Oily too, and needs a purge.	Had a little flavor to it now that the 3in1 oil wore off.
Wow, went bland big time. Strange. Ash held well and wasn't flaky like other's experienced. Strength is med-full. I guess I can taste a little wood/earth and maybe leather but I'm reaching. Still nice amount of smoke, and my burn is straight. Taste just went away, bummer.	Not much changed during the 2nd third, except a slight ''buttery'' taste began to develop and tapered off as time went on.
I don't remember anything at all.	Not a bad cigar, but lacks some depth, I think. I notice that there isn't much aftertaste in this middle realm. Taste doesn't linger very long before it's gone.
Raisin/date sweetness. Secondary notes of roasted caramel. Light creamy mouth feel.	Same (some spice tobacco pepper).
There is nothing wrong with Felicia. It could be the beautiful day and fantastic beer, but I'm rather enjoying her company. The burn finally got close enough to the booger to heat it up and flake off, and she's none the worse for wear. Nothing standing out flavor wise but pleasant is the overwhelming feeling I'm getting. Time for another beer.	More spice at this point and the cigar is kinda acting a bit like a sleep on me, seeming not so powerful and then sneaking up and kicking me in the backside a little. Very woodsy but very good. I am definitely enjoying this cigar at this point. Makes me wish like heck I was out side with my friends next to a nice fire, on the other hand I can deny that this smoke has paired amazingly well with my choice of T.V. show and my rum. I have worked past the wrapper issue and I am having a very good smoke.
Much more of the same. Seems one dimensional to me. The ash is somewhat flakey.	Harsher. Not much other than burnt flavor. A little spice with a nose exhale.
Same (very woody and leathery but no sweetness).	Developed a more grassy/hay taste. The spice has dropped right off. Earthy leather becoming the dominant flavor profile. Very strong cigar and full bodied. Experienced some light headedness.

Taste 3rd Third:
More of the acrid...continuing purges needed.	Same (Spicy, tasted earthy).
Cracking wrapper. Burning ok. Mint, oily thick and rich. Needs another purge.	Right at the end it had a little taste to it.
Strengh, full. Taste, bland. This cigar was interesting for a couple minutes, then the only thing that seemed to change was it's strength.	I had to purge the smoke at this point, which 0brought the ''buttery'' taste back. But, it quickly disappeared again.
Feeling green...	Good amount of smoke, this cigar is burning kind of quick - maybe it's me. It's freezing outside. then the tar comes. It's like I bit into a pen or something. First, it's just a little bit, then it intensifies. Not a fan. I thought about re-cutting, but pushed through. From that point, it just started getting bitter.
Pleasant bitter black coffee taste. Slightly sweet.	Ramped up spice and pepper.
Solid buzz going. Just read the label and this damn beer is 8.4% I'm starting to think the third beer was a bad idea. Oh, the cigar is ok too. Not a lot going on.	Started really good but then it went downhill due to operator error. I became distracted and let it die. It did not fare well on the relight. Became a bit hot and acrid tasting. Overall B- but again operator error killed it I think.
I'm starting to get some tar buildup. Clipped the foot, but it's still there. At least there's some zing to this thing finally. And I can feel the buzz from the tar.	Really harsh. More burnt flavor. No more spice. Watery eyes and burnt nostril hairs with nose exhale.
Towards where the band should be it got potent and pungent like a lot of Nic cigars seem to get to me.	All leather now. No more spice at this point of the cigar. Developing a bit of an oily mouth feel. Grass/hay taste is also gone. Last quarter getting a bit acrid.

Last Words:
I would not recommend this vitola, although the lancero in this line is a regular smoke for me.	Something about this cigar just make me think cheap bundled cigar.
I love the petit robusto of these cigars and would highly recommend them. Something went wrong with these box pressed torps. Dissapointing, I thought this would be a killer cigar. Sorry guys.	Yeah… not a Padron 64.
If you like strong one-dimensional cigars, then you'll like this one. I was overwhelmed.	Just didn't do much for me. Not a bad cigar, but nothing I'll remember the next time I look in the humi. the good: Nice burn - evenish. very well constructed the bad: I'm personally not a fan of big box-pressed cigars that thick. I don't mind if it was a smaller ring gauge, but that size is just.....awkward the draw was too loose. just didn't have a lot of depth to the flavor - felt more one-dimensional.
Amazing cocoa flavor at the start. Pleasant flavor change throughout. Damn good cigar.	Not half bad.
Felicia was good for a drunken grope on the dance floor, but she's not worth staining the upholstery in the back of Dad's car.	Good overall cigar and I would definitely keep a couple in the humidor. I rarely buy boxes so that doesn't indicate a whole lot to me but I would certainly smoke this one again.
Cigar was smooth, but bland. Initially I thought it was a pretty cheap stick, but the even burn and consistency makes me think there's some quality to the stick and not a bundle cigar. It underwhelmed, like most Rocky's, hence my guess. I like a bit more zip in a cigar.	Maybe it was the power going out and this developing migraine, but I did not enjoy that stick very much. Or, maybe I just know even less about cigars than I thought....Probably the latter.
I am not as versed in Padrons as a lot of you guys but I think it is a Padron . The price guess is what I would have paid for a cigar of this caliber. Not sure what series but honestly all Padrons pretty much are the same to me. I enjoyed it tremendously . But who knows what it is, I could go looking online for exact sizes and such but I believe it is not in the spirit of a review to do that. Thanks for including me in this. This smoke was OK. Nothing special. It was packed very lightly and burned a little hot. I chalked up the the hot burn to driving while smoking it. I'm going to say this is a Rocky Patel 15th Anni. That's why it is a Nicaraguan and NOT Honduran. You spelled my name wrong Buzz.

Editor's Note:

These cigars were purchased from www.atlanticcigar.com. We picked them up for $175.95 with free shipping (box of 23). The cigars came nicely packaged in a white hinged box. I didn't notice any cigar damage but unfortunately the two bands for this cigar were not easy to take off and a couple sticks suffered some minor wrapper damage. The foot of each cigar was wrapped with an orange ribbon. I thought it would be interesting to compare tastes from the regular My Father line with the Le Bijou line (though this particular vitola may have been a bad choice).

I wish there wasn't a 10,000 charactor and 12 image limit for posts (or that there wasn't a 30 second forced delay between posts) - it would make posting these easier.

IMHO, I can read it either way with ease. It's just if it's easier for you to post all the qoutes in a table or not.

I was able to figure out how to center the "X"s (see post #2 above for comparison) - what do you think? Is it worthwhile to have them centered?
