Completed the lower build this morning with Magpul parts and DPMS stock.
The build went nice and smooth.
I do recommend a better stock the DPMS had a lot of play in it so it will need some modifications "but i do like the look of it".

I still need a AR wrench to tighten the locking ring on the stock, but other than that its ready for a upper and optics to finish it.

So far i have $226 in the lower build.

I'm not set on getting a complete upper i may build it the way i want.

Post a pic when you're done. I'd love to see it.

I was dreaming about an AR style rifle the other night.........I'm not sure why........maybe it was my brain's way of reminding me I don't have one in the gun cabinet and should perhaps put one in there............lol

Oh, addendum to my previous rifle post with hunting info. I bagged a REAL nice 5x5 white tail buck on a friends land just outside of town. Those horns are going up on the wall!
Image 1, loading the elk using the headache rack/winch I put together. Image 2, my elk celebratory cigar later in the truck on the way home....a Padron Series 1926. Images 3 and 4, my white tail buck.

I will up some pics when i complete the build.

I haven't figured out why I'm leaning toward tactical weapons lately.

Got my scope in and the AR wrench to tighten up the stock.
Some of you may laugh at the scope i picked but i like the design of it "I have been known to destroy scopes" 3x9x42.

This one looks indestructible. it works for my eye sight also nice and clear.

I will go with a holographic on top of it later on.

I also inherited a pump action Remington 22 that i really like, this gun just feels right.

I don't see anything funny about your choice in scopes. That looks like a good one to me and I'm a little hard on scopes myself so I like the idea of one that's a little "tougher".

That pump .22, is it an older one? I remember being a kid and going to the fair and they'd have the shooting gallery and it they always had pump action .22's. I loved those guns and have high hopes of finding one. I almost had one at the last auction I attended in September but when the price hit $300 I dropped out. I like them a lot and want one, just not that badly..........LOL.

I'm pretty sure the ones I'm remembering were Remingtons. The one I almost bought at the auction was a "Remi" but it was chambered for .22 short only....and it's not easy to find shorts around here anymore. I want one that's chambered for long rifle .22's.

I cant find a serial number on the gun just the date code ( UU - 1949 ), it has a mark in front and behind the UU what may be the top part of a A and at the end the lower half of a O. other than that just patent numbers.
I will have to remove the side mount scope to see if its stamped under that.

The gun is in good condition with just normal wear on it.
