Thread: Question Regarding CBid

    Default Question Regarding CBid

Does anyone know why sometimes they ship DHL and sometimes they ship UPS? The reason i ask is because UPS will not leave a package at my door, but another other freight company will. I would like to know ahead of time so I can call UPS and tell them to just leave it at my freakin door or deliver it to my work. I get into arguments with the UPS store here, they're a bunch of jerks. Don't wanna help anyone out. So anyways, if you have any clue please inform me.

    thanks.

If they give special instructions and it isn't against your state law, UPS will leave it at your door. Some states require a signature and picture ID to make sure your of legal age. Just another reason for kids to go out and buy their fake ID's today!

The only problem is that under fed ex guidelines a retailer can not ship tobacco products to a consumer, only another retailer or manufacture.

Can a retailer ship to a consumer via USPS Priority Mail?

As long as it's legal in that state. Most will not due to the fact of poor tracking and poor reimbursement on the part of USPS. Example. I ship $200 in cigars to you. If UPS looses it, I will have a check in my hand in 2 days. If USPS looses it I can file for a claim no earlier than 21 days after the date of delivery and payment within 30 days. Also the filing for claims through USPS is much more difficult. So I might be inclined to ship Someone under $20 of merchandise, I wouldn't ship more.

I had problems with cbid shipping to me via DHL. Using their online tracking, i followed my order from the east coast to SLC (2 days) and then waited an additional 10 days for it to get to Montana.

So, I emailed cbid and requested another shipping method for future orders and they said they'd happily ship all further packages via USPS priority mail.

    Works for me!

You might as well have them deliver it to your work. Hell that's where your paycheck is going anyway.

I just thought it was funny how FedEx won't allow you to ship tobacco products to consumers but you can ship it Priority Mail.

Who do you think carries the bulk of the priority mail?

That is funny. It probably boils down that fed ex isn't responsible for the shipments made by USPS. I think Fed ex did that when the internet cigarette business started booming. They don't want to be responsible for packages being delivered to minors. I think that's where it started, but I don't think it will end there. I think as more states in act laws that affect the shipping of tobacco products, the more restrictive all carriers will become. UPS is headed that way. :(

Well, guess I showed them. I had to call UPS last nite and redirect 3 packages to where I work. Which added an extra 2 days on the shipment The lady I talked to had a stepbrother with the same name as me. Then I just got off the phone with the lady at CigarBid and had her change my settings to only ship DHL. They leave it at my door and ship faster than UPS. Sounds like a winner to me. Today, I think I became a little more of a man.
