Default Does anybody else do this?

I pretty much save the band from every cigar that I smoke. This is just one of the boxes that I have filled.

I'm hoping that one day, I'll think of something creative to do with them.
Does anybody else do this? and to what end? Any special plans or projects in mind? (other than reference for JFellows' contest)

Yup, I do it, too. I have a bunch right now and I'm looking for a neat clear vase to stick em all in.

I made these a while back.

    You are not alone.

I started doing this with bands of the cigars I liked, then it was every band. I now have a box full, to the point that I'm considering a second box.

I just wish I had some idea what to do with them all.

Every once in a while someone on here will request bands in order to decorate humidors/tabletops/etc. I just save mine in a box until someone else needs 'em.

I keep em' too. I have used them in mosaics and what not and would like to cover an entire wall with bands some year.

Heftysmokes' bar project (thread somewhere on here) is the coolest use of labels I have seen.

I remember that, he had like two bands left over! (Macanudo was one of them)

I have a fairly sturdy coffee table that needs a new top, so I've been seriously considering a band mosaic + bar-top treatment. If I do, I may be asking for donations since I don't think I have enough to cover 6 or 7 sq feet.

Chris, those framed mosaics look awesome

I collect my bands as well. I did some measuring and figured it would take about 1500 bands to do the front bar so I have also started collecting beer bottle labels.

This http://www.cigarsmokers.com/t9003-the-bar-project.html would not have been possible without the great BOTL on cigarsmokers.com.

  11. Default Savin' Cigar Bands

BOTL - Here is one - my daughter and son-in-law bought an older home. The previous
owner had his entire interior garage walls covered and lacquered over more cigar brands
than most of us can imagine! It appears he served in WWII and had collected many
during his travels. Its' a great place to smoke!

Your not alone. For the past 16+ years, I have been collect the rare and ultra premium bands. I plan using the bands to cover the top of an old- rustic wine tasting table, and cover it with glass.

A guy I play cards with covered his entire bar in them and then with a clear finish of some sort covered them. If I can a pic next time I am there I will post it. It truly is a "cigar bar"

Yup, I save every single one. I have a zip lock full almost bursting so now I just throw the bands in the cooler. I dont know what I save them for but I cant throw them away. Sometimes I find bands laying around, guess I got sloppy.
