Got my newb sampler!

Thanks to Funkycold5 I got my newb sampler today. Been waiting all week for it. I have to say though I am only familiar with the Rocky Patels. Is there a website I can find more imformation on these smokes? Finally filled my small 20 count! Had to go get a tupperdor this afternoon to throw the extras in... guess I should probably just buy a cooler like everyone keeps telling me :P.

The sampler thing here on this site is a great way to get people interested, thanks again to all the suggestions regarding hitting the newb sampler thread up. And thanks to Funkycold5 for building a sampler, especially over memorial weekend!

Funky bombed me as well when I got my newb sampler. I spent the better part of one evening doing research on the variety of sticks he sent. He is a great BOTL!

I've been lucky and disciplined enough to keep only one humidor, although it's pretty good size. I don't smoke often, and am really too new to buy any more than a 5-er.

O.K., does anybody else object to the posting of pic's of trades/buys/bombs?
If this was something I had sent out, I would object to it being posted and ask that it be removed. I know this was a newb sampler deal and not a bomb, but does it matter?

Just my opinion and I'm curious what others might think.

Agreed. A "Thank you!" or "I'll get you back, you bastard!" thread will never go out of fashion, but it's a bit of a faux pas to itemize or show a picture of exactly what you got. When you show specifically what was sent, future deals/bombs/samplers etc run the risk of getting "compared", which never ends well, especially with money and noobs involved.

I don't see a problem posting pics but if someone feels differently I don't see why they can't be accommodated. Well one thing is I don't want Big Brother to get upset if he or she thinks this board is being used for the distribution of Cuban cigars. That would be one of my worries.

Posting details on GIFTS/BOMBS is a definate no-no. Posting details on something you purchased from a fellow BOTL, is something I personally wouldn't do, just seems like bad form.

These were a purchase, and since we don't know how much Synthetik spent on them, there's really no danger in being "compared" to other newbie samples.

I personally prefer the innocuous " I'll Get You.. You Bastige" type of thread.

Let's all keep in mind, this is a photo of a newbie sampler...key word "newbie." The guy just sounds pretty happy with his newfound goodies and I'm sure a quick PM to him would have rectified the situation.

Agreed and understood. I apologize if my post came off as any kind of attack on Synthetik, it was not meant to be. I intended it to be a question for the board. If it was my sampler, I would have shot the PM as soon as I saw the post.....but since it wasn't, and seeing no other objections, I didn't.......

The lack of this knowledge is exactly why I don't think it should be posted.......I think it would be natural for recent newbs that have participated in the thread to look at the photo and do somewhat of a "comparison" to what they received. With no point of reference........bad conclusions could be reached.

Point is, all of it could just simply be avoided.

I agree with your points 100%. Maybe you could make a point in the new sampler thread that the newbies should ask their sponsor before disclosing to the board what they received or just make it a simple "no show" policy.

Hell, it might already say it, I'm just too lazy to go look.

I added rule 8 to the newb sampler III thread.......this isn't my thread, but rather one owned by the whole board.....comments or suggestions are welcome.
