Pipe Trade Anyone?

Hello All,

I am new to the forum and the world of cigar smoking. I am migrating from pipe smoking and trying to turn as much of my pipe smoking stuff into cigar stuff as possible. I don't know if pipes are enjoyed by any on this forum or not, but I figured I would give it a try.

I currently am building a coolidor and have some Rocky Patel Vintage 1992 2nds arriving tomorrow. I have the necessary smoking supplies, but the RP's are all I have thus far for smokes.

I was looking to see if anyone would be interested in acquiring my mighty fine pipe in trade for a noob smoke sampler?

I have a 2008 Churchwarden carved by J.M. Boswell. Smokes beautifully and looks great too. It is has a dark stain color and a twisted vulcanite stem. Unfortunately, I don't have any pics on my computer, but I would be happy to take some if anyone was interested.

The pipe is 4 months old and retailed for around 90 bucks. I am hoping to get something along the lines of the 50 buck noob sampler talked about in the sampler thread. I would go in on cash, but cash is short right now with the building of the coolidor (damn rh beads and hygrometers add up).

Normally a newb would get skewered for trying to trade so early in their time on the board, so keep this in mind if anyone who wants to trade expects to receive the pipe before sending their end. Don't be offended, and feel free to check into any members before shipping your pipe off (you have every right to feel secure in the transaction as well).

As for me, I did all of my pipe smoking in high school and college, but the pipe was homemade and I had to stuff a towel under my dorm room door or I'd have ended up in jail.

Thanks for the heads up, I expect a little skewering, but I figure its worth a shot. I would expect to send the pipe first before seeing anything on my end. I would demand the same of a noob on a board I was a regular at.

Hehe, never had much interest in smoking the kind that would land me in jail. This pipe is for good ole briar pipe tobac.

I agree with Aaron. And it is good to see you are willing to send your end first. Personally Fife, I know that I would regret trading away a nice Boswell for a few cigars later on down the road. I would not trade away your pipe. Hold on to it. It is already personal to you now that you have broken it in...

Recommendation. Hold out until you have the cash for a newbie sampler. In the meantime, put your address and maybe a few wishes/preferences in the comments section of your profile. Who knows? Something nice might happen.
