I don't think there's any required reading/viewing for the first-time smoker. It's all about starting off at a pace your comfortable with, then take it from there. Go into your local B&M ("cigar shop/lounge/retailer") and ask them for a recommendation. Most places will be accommodating. After a while, you'll have an idea of your likes and dislikes.
