Got an e-mail from cigar.com about this new cigar from Gurkha. Supposed to contain some rare Turkish tobacco. Has anyone heard or tried this cigar? (JFellows?)![]()

I just smoked my first and didn't notice any distinctive Turkish flavor. It is in the realm of the Avo XO, The Edge Lite, and Rocky Patel Connecticut. Just as good as those but not any better. It is a bit creamier than the Rocky Patels, and has a bit of more of the cherry flavor characteristic of Nicaraguan tobacco distinguishing it from the Avo XO. In a blind test, I probably would have difficulty differentiating it from The Edge Lite. For a milder cigar, I like all of the above and would choose one over the other based solely on price. We'll see how the Turk tastes after it sits for a while.
Just won a "mazo" from the Devil Site. I can send one your way if you are interested, BD...

Lit one up after lunch today. Tasty mild-med smoke with some nuttiness to it. I'm not sure what Turkish tobacco is supposed to taste like so I can't really comment on it. Overall it was a pleasant experience and definitely worth the price paid (about $3 per).

This has become the only mild cigar I smoke since I prefer strong cigars, but I smoke a LOT of these. Absolutely delicious.
Three small whiskies had gone to his head and Gallaher's strong cigar had confused his mind, for he was a delicate and abstinent person. (--from the short story 'A Little Cloud' by James Joyce)
