Another review from the newb...
I am not sure how helpful any of my reviews will be but I'll do them anyway. I guess my goal is to educate the other newbies out there what I think as I expand my horizons...Sorry for the crapy photos...
Cigar: Padilla Signature 1948
Drink: Jack Daniels Gentleman Jack (GJ)
Review: Initial impression was that this would be a little stronger than what I am used to. Lit easily and had a nice draw.
It was a very smooth to begin with in the first 1/3. Second 1/3 after the ash I started to pick up a little bitterness. Still not bad. I'd say this it tasted a little woodsy (if that is even a word). Still, not overpowering and very pleasant. I think it went well with the GJ I was drinking.
The ash was not white. It was more of a grey and dark grey. Ash held well and it burned evenly.
Bottom 1/3 the bitterness started going away and it finished off nice. I think the after taste was very pleasant. If it was any more overpowering, I don't think I would have liked it.
Overall, I loved it. If there are any newbies out there looking to move away from the mild cigars, I highly recommend. I will be buying more.
Sorry for the crapy pics but I didn't want to get up to turn the light on...
