Holiday Writing Contest

Alright everybody, we have to keep the contests and fun going for the holiday season. No better way than to tap into the imaginations and literary talent of our members that we see demonstrated every day.

Here are the rules for what we are going to do this year:
1. Contests begin today.
2. Open to members in good standing with a minimum of 25 posts as of today.
3. You can submit as many entries as you want before the specific contests' deadline.
4. Entry can be in the form of a poem, song, haiku, limerick, or just a short story, and can be serious or humorous and any length you want.
5. All contest deadlines are CST, I don't want to have to add and subtract
6. Entry must be themed around cigarsmokers.com and the specific holiday the contest is for.
7. Winners will be chosen by Poll of the membership, all members in good standing are allowed to vote.
8. As the host, I won't be playing.
9. I will start a thread for each contest. Entries must be posted in the appropriate thread.

The Contests:
Thanksgiving Writing contest:
Deadline = Midnight, CST, Wednesday, November 26, 2008.
Poll starts on Friday, November 28, 2008 and runs through Friday, December 5, 2008.
Prize for the winner = A nice package of cigars from DERIVATION!!

Christmas Writing Contest
Deadline = Midnight CST, Wednesday, December 24, 2008
Poll starts on Friday, December 26, 2008 and runs through Friday, January 2, 2009
Prize for the winner = A nice package of cigars from Cigarsarge

Overall Best Entry
Poll Starts on January 5, 2009 and runs through January 9, 2009.
Prize for the winner = A selection of dog rockets from the bottom of my coolerdor.
I promise that they will all be large ring gauge, long filler cigars purchased off of free Yahoo internet. All kidding aside, trust me, the prize will be worth it.

If anyone was like me, I didn't remember an "overall" winner as part of the contest. Even though it was in the OP. It says the vote will be open "through 1/9"; the polls are now closed...My bad for not realizing. Sorry guys.

I told it to end on the 9th.......Looks as if James is the overall winner, Congratulations!! Prize will go out next week.
