You can go for multiple days without checking in? You, sir, are a better man than I.

I am also behind on welcoming all the new guys, so welcome from western Indiana.

Thanks, guys! It will be nice talking with all of you. I mean, I don't know much about cigars, so hopefully you all can teach me something.

I know I'm not new by any means, but I don't post a lot. I have, however, decided to start. This could be a fun hobby to take up!

First piece of useful cigar amoking advice to the new cigar smoker...

DO NOT (under any circumstances) try to put the lit end into your mouth...

Easier said than done. Also, be careful with torch lighters, especially when you accidentally have them upside-down.

Speaking of torch lighters. I have an old cheap one that sometimes stays lit even after stop pressing the button and it closes. A couple of times my pocket has gotten all warm.

I second that. My first torch lighter that I bought has a tendency to do that but I keep it around as a keepsake.

Nope a little no name $5 lighter that's been working for years fine but just started to do this for the last couple of months. I'm greatful for the extra warmth in the winter.

IIRC, it has something to do with a scorched pinky finger. But I might be mixed up.

The side mounted "trigger" for one thing. In the dark with a few beers in you, it is possible to accidentally ignite the lighter upside down. Just sayin'.

I think it is getting slightly clogged because, much like DG's lighter, it will sometimes hold a small flame after you are finished with it.
