There's an obsessive-compulsive reaction I have with music in that it always needs to be on in the background. I listen to music all day at work. I listen to it when I eat lunch, dinner, working in the garage or the yard. When I was younger, I'd listen to it when I went to sleep. Doesn't make much difference what the music is, just that it's on, and it's not Neil Young.
Ouch! What's your beef with Neil if you don't mind me asking?

I can't take the whining. Every single song. I seriously go hysterical and just start breaking things. Then I listen to Black Flag's Damaged album, and Henry makes everything all better.

I'm borderline like that with the Eagles, Smashing Pumpkins and CCR. I think CCR's music is good, bug John Fogerty's voice just drives me nuts.

I see what you mean with those other examples. The Eagles used to piss me off and I have to be just the right amount of drunk, every few months, to really get into CCR. They all very much have a unique sound.

ETA: Been listening to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons and Type O Negative's Life is Killing Me.

Started listening to Nostalgia 77's new album, The Sleepwalking Society this morning...

It's kinda "ehhhhhh" so far...though I do dig the drumming on it. Kind of reminds me of Billy Martin.

Just received Jamey Johnson's- Guitar Songs album in the mail last night (damn Amazon ). I'm not too big on "new" country music, but I'm really enjoying this so far.

I bought a new moving coil cartridge for my turntable and have been going through the music of my youth. Yesterday was the Band. Today Cream and other Clapton recordings of the late '60's and early '70's, tomorrow the Doors.

Just curious, what cartridge did you get? Not meaning to derail the thread, but I've been looking around for a new cart.

Haven't heard that one...while I can't stand his arrogant persona, his early albums are incredible. Haven't been too much on it since 808's though.
