I have 2 Herf-a-dor travel boxes. A 5ct and a 15ct. They both keep cigars good for days without any humidifier. They are exactly the same as the otterbox, and price is about the same too.
I'm not sure if there are any otterbox combos. But you can go to Cigarbid or cigars international and get combos if you only need a 5ct box. 5 cigars(perdomo champagne or Monte media noche), 5ct box and a torch lighter. I got the monte combo.
For half day transit I use a semi rigid three finger case, with the rigidity being provided by shaped cedar inserts. I generally keep this in my coolerdoor with my cigars so the cedar is nicely sitting at the correct humidity. For longer trips I use a csonka traveller.
I thought it was a tampon joke!
Herf a dors, Otter Box, Xikar's etc...they all do a good job so lon as your not leaving them inside of your car on a hot summer afternoon! Bulky yes, but they get the job done and protect your babies until your ready to cannibalize 'em
This is my signature...like it or leave it!!!
how many smokes are you wanting to take with you?
If you're getting something like a 3 fingered case, and you want to keep humidity in it, I'd get a telescoping one that sort of locks down when you slide the lid over it. That will keep it air tight. The sponges are really the only stock option in those kinds of cases, which are crappy but you could always use beads out of THE PUCK tied up in a bit of panyhose or you could put a water pillow in there. Remember, if you take them out of the humidor and put them in an air tight case, they will stay fresh for a week or two if you don't open the case.
Otterboxes are also a good choice for transporting more cigars.
