IIRC, 1892 was before the US tobacco trust tried to gain control of the entire Cuban cigar industry. (The CC brands today are mostly the "independents" - those family-owned companies that refused to be pressured into selling to the trust. An example of a (former) CC brand in the trust (and still in the trust) is Henry Clay.)
