Default I Could Live the Rest of My Life Without Ever Listening To

Neil Young, John Fogerty, or Billy Corgan again.

I hate the whiney singers. But then again, I'm a total hypocrite, as I'm a big Dave Matthews fan. Like almost to Dave Matthews Band sweatpants fan.

Many of my western friends thought I was crazy not listening to Neil Young, but where I grew up in the south.......let's just say I didn't even HEAR a Neil Young song until I was 24. Hopefully, I'm redeemed of any potential stereotypes because I can't stand John Fogerty's voice, either.

That's what I mean... not that their songs are BAD, just WAAAAY overplayed.

I could go forever without hearing Stairway to Heaven, also.

I can understand how some might not like Garth Brooks, but how can you go wrong with Nirvana???

Me personally I like both of those, I agree with Madonna. I hate listening to that bit... uh woman

I could go the rest of MY life without listening to Nirvana.. three chords and a whining apathetic voice do very little for me!

David Grohl is a badass though.. so I guess SOME good came from them.

You are more than welcome to listen to your hearts content.

That's the one that immediately came to mind for me. Nothing wrong with the song per se, but I have heard it soooo many times. I hope I never feel that way about smoking Padron's.

In more of the spirit of the original post:
    - any 'idol,' regardless of placement or country.
    - any Eurovision Song Contest entry, again, regardless of country.
    - Celine Dion. (The voice isn't particularly annoying, but in considering the whole Titanic package ...)
    - Geddy Lee's 'singing' voice always caused me to break out in hives.

See.. now I LOVE Rush, (early Rush, anyways), and I like Geddy's voice!

I thought they were one of Canada's national treasures

Let's leave Neil Young out of this. Please!

I could go the rest of my life without hearing:

    Creed (especially Creed)
    Nickelback
    Staind
    Sugarland
    Aiden
    My Chemical Romance
    Dresden Dolls
    Fall out Boy
    Panic at the Disco
    Blink 182
    Dashboard Confessional (drama queens)

and pretty much anything new/fake punk, sappy pop country, "emo" or otherwise lacking some substance
Mama said a lot of things and be thankful was the one she never minded saying twice

I like Rush - local band that made good. Not really sure why they got sooo big worldwide. Then again, I say the same thing about Bryan Adams. I kinda lost interest in Rush after the Massey Hall concert ("All the World's a Stage"). I actually started working at Massey Hall a couple months after; worked there for years before I left Toronto.

    Free-association: 2019 is only 10 years away.

Aw man, Dashboard? Really? I love dashboard. Their newest album was delightful. I ablsolutely admire their drummer. That guy is beyond creative. Yeah, some of his early stuff can be whiney, but it's good acoustic guitar work and not your usual dumbed down lyrics. You should give a listen to his band before Dashboard, Further Seems Forever. Now THAT was good stuff and possibly and even better drummer.

Ok, let's see if I can come up with a couple.

    AC/DC
    Kid Rock
    Nickleback
    Bright Eyes
    Green day
    Tom Waits
Pretty much any 'rock' played on the radio.
Any new country. It's thoughtless garbage.
    Radiohead
    Buckcherry
    Pink
    Guns n Roses
    Disturbed
    Linkin' Park
    3 Doors Down
    Hinder
    NIN
    Metallica
    Bon Jovi
    Pink Floyd
Marliyn Manson - and pretty much anyone who listens to him.

But what do my answers matter? I have every cd of Kidz Bop and listen to it regularly. Yes, even the Halloween cd. If you haven't I would suggest you give it a try. Seriously.

Fair enough, Chris. I will give the Further Seems Forever a shot.

Their first cd was with Chris. They released 3 cd's with 3 different singers, but all were great. The first was the best though. It's called The Moon is Down. Pay attention to their drummer.

Really Bon Jovi and Guns? Granted quite a bit of Jovi's new stuff is crap but both of these bands did quite a bit to steer the directional flow of music and are just classics. Seriously Wanted dead or alive, Paradise City. Just classic tunes.

I could go the rest of my life without ever listening to any rap or country music again. Minus the Humpty Dance cause that is just fun.

I'm also suprise that some of the usual suspects aren't on anyones list ie. Britney Spears, Timberlake, New Kids, Backstreet Boys and such.

Ya, I just can't stomach those types of bands.

I believe Britney, New Kids and BSB all go without saying.

    I like Justin Timberlake.

I listen to Britney. I listen to Madonna. Can't say I listen to much Justin Timberlake. I don't think I've ever even heard NSYNC or Backstreet Boys. Or Hannah Montana, or the Jonas Brothers or anything else like that.

I like what I like. What can I say?
