Default Need Help with a Graduation Gift

My wife graduates from her MBA class this coming May. She has been working hard on her MBA for almost 3 years now, doing the part time program and working full time. She is so excited to graduate and finish this that she literally cannot wait for graduation! I'm also excited and extremely proud of her, as she has convinced me that i do not have the diciplin or drive to go and get a graduate degree. I want to get a awesome graduation present and have been toying around with a couple of ideas. I was thinking a real nice tenis braclet with some expensive stones in it, golf lessons (she really likes golf and wants to spend a lot more time on the course when she is doen with her degree), cooking lessons (real good cook and likes cooking), edjucational wine classes/seminars (helping her learn about the wine that she drinks), or maybe a weekend get-a-way at a B&B somewhere away from the Beltway. This is all i can think of, and was hoping that some of you folks could help me out by thinking of a few other ideas and/or weighing in your 2 cents from previous experiences. Thanks for the advice and recommendations guys.

First of all, congrats to your Mrs. Takes a lot of dedication to go all the way through.
As far as gift ideas about a real nice bag? Like briefcase or something along those lines? For instance, Schlesinger makes beautiful attache cases.

I'm kind of leaning towards a B&B outside of the beltway and something else, maybe some new clubs, or some jewlery. Still not sure yet

After completing all that hard work she's doing I think that a nice vacation at a B&B would be an excellent choice. It would be a well deserved time to relax.

Your other ideas are really nice ones too. My wife always says, "I like shiny things." Meaning diamonds. But I think a nice tennis bracelet is a more fitting gift for her birthday or Christmas. And all the lessons that your thinking of are nice but IMO the B&B would be nicer. The addition of a few new clubs or a nice pair of diamond stud earrings would be icing on the cake.

How about this? Go to the B&B, and while at dinner or hanging out at the B&B give her the earrings(or other gift). While drinking a nice bottle of wine, of course.

First give Ms. Cabaiguan Juan a big congratz. That is something to be really proud of! Now on to your question, I would say the B & B as well. At least for my wife, she isn't really in the jewelry , but the few B & Bs we have stayed at she has loved. We stayed at one around Asheville, NC and went to tour Biltmore. She still talks about the place we stayed at and wants to go back.

I agree on the B&B selection. Maybe a massage or a bubble bath as well? A personal foot rub by you? Edible underwear, a can of whipped cream, handcuffs, chains, whips and swings? You know, those kinds of things.

A vaca would be great. Ever thought about a warm sunny weekend at a golf school?

But, diamonds make the ladies happy........ and woman ever said as a recipent " No thanks, that diamond is way too big". Good Luck.

Maybe a night at a golf resort/spa. Play a round of golf with her then go for his and her spa packages?

Diamonds really are a sure thing as well.

    Jon, congratulations to Heather.

You brought up a lot of great ideas, I'm sure she will enjoy whichever you end up doing/giving her.

Don't waste your money on educational wine/seminars. Practice makes perfect. Come over and we can drink as many wine as you want from my collection.

Plus, just like cigars, to each his own. All I know is, if I am enjoying that $10 bottle Cab Sav and can't tell a difference from that $50 bottle, then I'm good to go.

    See you at the Herf.

    Andrew
