    Default Mahogany humidor

    Hi

Anyone haves a mahogany humidor? I like this wood more than cedrela, but don't know if it's true it's fine for cigars.

I have made a couple little humidors now, and would like to try doing a bigger one with all the niceties. Only not sure if going for mahogany is a good option.

    Any advice will be appreciated

My brother uses my grandfather's mahogany humidor from the 1920s as his desk humidor. It maintains RH perfectly -- even in a Chicago winter. I believe spanish cedar is in the mahogany family -- its more aromatic nature is preferrable for aging, but mahogany is a fine substitute for humidity control.
